Should I bother with the Exorcist 2 and Exorcist 3

Skip two, it was a wacky look into the mind of Reagan trying to locate the demon through hypnosis. Three is a decent sequel with one of the biggest jump scares in history....to me at least. Also written and directed by Blatty so he was able to tie the story together with the first one.

Exorcist 3 is a very good movie with great actors, don't expect another exorcist 1, it's a very different movie, more like a thriller. It has 2 different cuts too, look into that.

Not sure about that "one of the scariest scene of all time" though, but yeah, well executed.

Well definitely forget about getting anything at the quality of the first The Exorcist. None of the sequels are even close to that level.

Give 3 a watch if you're interested in a supernatural crime thriller. It's a fairly good one and has some solid performances.

Exorcist 2 is terrible but it does have a certain appeal if you're into dated weirdo cult movies. It almost feels like you're watching one of those off-beat Italian horror movies from the era but it's loaded with ridiculous elements and any potential goodwill is killed by a laughable ending. =P

There's also those two prequels but I've never seen them.

skip 2, which is just bizarre and artistically indulgent. a shame considering the actors ...

Exorcist 2 is an easy pass unless you had/have a crush on Linda Blair. ;) Exorcist 3 is very good.

You should also check out the Exorcist tv series. Season 1 is awesome, season 2 (separate story) not so much, but still worth watching.

Exorcist 3 is one of the best psychology thrillers ever made

I prefer it to the original film tbh

2 is poop, 3 is pretty decent. I also liked the prequel, but I can't remember which version of it lol I think it was actually the Harlin version 🤷‍♂️

Some horror fans consider 3 the best one.
To me even 2 had some creepy scenes. Also I honestly liked The prequel. So there are 2 versions of the prequel, different directors. Harlins version and Scraders version, I actually like Harlins better. How interesting or how often do you get to see two versions of a film by different directors is the question I'd ask before Justice League.

I don’t remember which one I watched but it involved lightbulbs on heads and was really dumb.

Also I was too scared to watch the exorcist as a kid, but then finally sacked up and watched it edited for tv one night as a teenager. Not sure if it was the edit job or just not scary, but it really didn’t move the needle for me and I was a horror movie pussy back the.

The first is one of my all-time favorites. I first saw it in elementary school. I remember my nuclear family sitting around our tiny couch watching it together, as the girl was given shots and tested at the hospital. We never watched horror movies together but there is something special about the one. Mass appeal despite how brutal it is.

I watched the first movie when I was 8 or 9. Geez, had nightmares for more than a week. I still love the movie and rewatch it once every few years. It's incredibly how well it's aged as a horror movie considering it's an early 70s flick. The makeup and the levitation scene still look believable.

3 is genuinely good, but 2 is just... interesting in a strange sort of way. I've always liked John Boorman's stuff though, its rare you see a director with credits like Deliverance and Excalibur alongside with Zardoz and Exorcist 2 on his filmography!
