You mean for the cables hanging directly from the TV?
I probably should, but I will need to find a good solution (not planning to hide it inside the wall or anything), maybe some tube or something.

To say it's not the best setup in here would be an understatement, but I'm happy with it :D.

My setup is the exact same. Shit, I think I have that same table. Replace the PS3 with a 360, and it's like a mirror image.

Pics too big? Oh well.

I need to clean up my cables but it's a pretty nice set-up. Sounds and looks great. Needs more all decor but I'm moving out in a few months so it's pointless to put up anything.

Does the big daddy figure really look like that in the CE? If so...I'm having second thoughts.

It isn't really a figure, more like a small statue. It's made of resin and solid and weighs almost 1 lb. It's one of the best videgame collectibles I have ever seen IMO. Paint job is top notch too.

I'm gunning for most improved. I think I stand a fairly good shot, given that this was what my lounge looked like at the start of the year. What a difference a few months (and a few published pieces of industry research) can make, eh? So, to recap:

Same house, same corner, believe it or not. For the record, the green thing is in the kitchen now, where it is full of tasty pasta and flour. Also some baking powder.

Looks awesome- great job, dude.

Yeah, I don't think it looks very good either to be honest. I'm buying the CE for the soundtrack and making-of disc rather than anything else.

That fan-made one looked a lot better in my opinion:

Thanks man. It feels awesome to have it all done. I've had the TV for a while now, but only got the speakers a little while ago, and wanted to wait for that before the big reveal. So to speak.

Admittedly, the couch is a hand-me-down, but it's universally adored by all who have experienced its cushiony goodness. Singly the best couch I've ever owned, bar none. Though, to be fair, most of the other couches came from the side of the road, so...

Reminds me of that tampon commercial with that idiot girl saying "upgrade"

Oh and great set up. I should post my before and after.

Didn'r know Polaroid made thier TVs in black... mine above is the only Polariod HDTV color I've seen.

Looks good alistairw.

I guess it's the new model. Or the old one? Who knows. They're solid TVs, eh? Great for the price, though the speed at which it shuffles between input sources is hilariously slow.

Mine suffers from slight ghosting on standard def cable... but I don't watch much TV. As soon as a get a good antenna I'll get some OTA HD.

But yeah, it's a great TV for the price. PS3 and Blu-Ray movies look great on it.

Get the Terk HDTVa. It's less than $30 and the picture quality for OTA ATSC is fantastic.

I wasn't sure which to get... but that was one of my options. I guess I'll go with that, thanks.

What kind of speakers do you have there? I have a very similar setup.

Kenwood. Everything is Kenwood except the Bose surround sound speakers. One is slightly broken... my dog chewed it up so I'll be buying a new pair soon. Might get a new reciever with a HDMI input along with it.

I got Taiko no Tatsujin for the PS2 today.

I live in the UK, I haven't got a swap disc or anything to play import PS2 games yet so, here's my Taiko set up,

So what makes this TV "worst TV ever"?
They have so many geometry problems which can be made slightly better, but never perfect. The Slimfit line has the worst geometry problems out of any CRT displays out there. I swear, I spent a whole day configuring it but, it will never be good overall. Just when you think you got it, you'll play a different game and your life bar is almost off the screen.

I've also had the rainbow effect occur once and got that fixed, and then have had a blur problem on each left and right side twice where you couldn't even read words it was so bad on the edges.

Yeah, if your thinking about it since they are cheap and HD... Don't be fooled like I was.

Posted this in the Wii setup thread, so why not here?

Got rid of my 20" Viewsonic LCD monitor for the king of all CRTs, the Sony GDM-FW900 Widescreen. :D Then I added wheels to my arm chair so it is easier to navigate my desk.

wiisetup2.jpg

Nothing new on this end though, except that my JP Wii is now black and my US Wii is chrome.

CRT for the older consoles.

360 is hooked up to the 22' Samsung, as is the Macbook. Gotta make some room for a PS3 and Wii soon. Will come up with a solution for those cords aswell. Ideas?

Sorry about the quality of the shots but until I get a new digital camera or fix the old one, this is the best I can do. And they get the point across of what my set up is like.

New apartment - new setup.

Below is the living room. A PS3 is connected to the LCD monitor and a PS2 is connected to the CRT TV. They are on the same network. So, yes, some gaming over a LAN goes down with some PS2 games.

The only thing missing is my charcoal green Sumo beanbag, which is on its way as we speak!

I'm thinking about picking up the 22" Samsung for my room setup. I'll be hooking my PS3 up to it...Are you guys just running a HDMI>>DVI cable from the PS3 to the monitor? What are you doing for sound?

You take the sound from the composite cables or optical output.

226BW w/ hdmi to dvi cable setup. Audio is running through the regular a/v cables which is hooked up to a 5.1 stereo system (it's only 2.1 right now, though). Monitor kicks ass and runs 1080p downscaled to 1680x1050. You get an annoying "resolution error" message that goes away after a minute or after hitting the menu button. I hope they fixed that in newer models. If they did, I'll probably just buy one and return my old one.

Mostly everyone saw my personal setup. This is the main room for gaming with friends/family for now. A Saturn, DC and Wii are hooked up to the 65" Sony.

The extended side of room to the right which is separated from the main and has a fireplace not pictured to the right. Also where most of the freeloading takes place. And yes, I have two 50 gallon fish tanks. Kinda hard to take care of the bastards so most of them died. Plus I tend to overfeed them. :lol

No offense meant, Kadey, but do you live with your grandmother by any chance? All the tech gadgets and uber-geek paraphernalia don't seem to jive with the whole porcelain dish, random plant, and stuffed animal motif you've got going otherwise.

Kadey definitely has the grandmother's house look down pat. I mean DAMN.

where did you get your entertainment center?!

Ooops, sorry about not replying before. I got it from Target, in Australia. It was, like...$100, or something. It looks rad, but it was an absolute bitch to put together. :lol

edit: unless you mean the old green one, in which case I found it on the side of the road on Andrew St in Edwardstown.

Asian household. :)

Yep. :D Mark knows what it's about.

To answer some questions. No, no one lives with me. I'm going for a mixture of Asian/American look since ya know that's me. If my grandmother lived with me, there would be even more plants around the house. :D That's just the living room area which is similiar to the den. Every other room has a vastly different color scheme and everything.
My house is always a work in progress though. It's going to be quite a few years before everything is settled.

Den room.

Target has retarded monkeys design their flat pack furniture. After having to bash together 3 different units I am sure of this.

I dont know how to explain this, but for some reason that room looks so cozy. With all the foliage, the tv at that angle playing MP3, the cluttered walls....It has a nostalgic feeling about it.
