Show us your gaming setup: 2007 edition

The Chef, nice setup, your place looks nice and warm :) ...but the lights on the sides of the LCD must be very annoying when you're gaming, aren't they too bright? why not move them to another location?

I wish I had another place to move them. My place is pretty tiny.
The picture definitely makes them look brighter than they actually are. They are like 60 watts each and they are always off while watching/playing something.

I need a tv stand

No way dude, I think that looks badass. Way better than my crappy stand.

might want to consider a dimmer for them. i have every light in my setup room on a dimmer and it's really nice to have.

That is a great idea. I like them for accent lighting but they are a little bright.

yeah with a dimmer they can actually provide some decent low back lighting while viewing. my sconces would be useless without dimmers.

good luck.

It is sold as a pc monitor actually. I use it for my computer and as a tv. I'd take some screens of TF2 or whatever on it but my camera would fail horribly.

I got it from Newegg for $1000 a year ago. Apparently they don't make that model anymore. My friend got a refurb for $500 last month off some auction site.

I have this same monitor and use it as a TV/Gaming monitor.

Love it, 360 1080p goodness, with no overscan.

Need to get my hands on a PS3 now...but I can wait until the price drops.

Agreed

On Topic: Awesome set-ups guys, I think I'm currently considering wiring all my speakers to hang off the ceilings! .. (best setup evar!)

Finally got done painting, hanging speakers, running wire and mounting the LCD. Got a chance to take some shots this morning.
Some of the pics are a little dark so I apologize (it was early)

I forgot to take a picture of my rear channels mounted on the ceiling.
I'll get a shot of them later today.
very nice looking. but aren't the lights too bright and being next to the TV maybe get in the way of the TV's brightness?
also, where are the TV wiring? it's all neat.

good layout.

They are pretty bright - as I was saying earlier I never have them on while using the TV. But scissorfight had a great idea of putting them on a dimmer - so I will for sure be doing that.

As for the cables I cut a hole behind the wallmount and then ran them straight down to a hole behind my amp. All my audio cables and my HDMI from my TV run through the wall.
It turned out nice. You cant see the hole behind the mount at all which I was happy with.

Why? Whats wrong with one good tv with all systems hooked up to it?

Not fancy enough. Above each tv and console will have neon lights of the respective company and the ceiling will be a painting of dozens of vg characters.

ever? I used to head-but those like a raging bull. luckily, by time, I come to grow Shaloine Monk abilities by having my spirit/body obtain awareness and thus move and think on its own.

Wow, that looks like a fire waiting to happen! Good luck dude!

I love how it looks like the TV is just floating above the TV stand. If I ever decide to get rid of my CRT for a flat panel, I'd want it displayed just like yours.

It used to be that quoted pictures would only show up as URLs. WTF happened?
in the meantime, just delete the image quotes from the image URL links manually before hitting 'post'. they are annoying.

Guys stop quoting those massive picture posts, at least remove all the images except for one.

Are you planning an abortion or something?

that was harsh. I'll never be able to go to sleep now! :(

Just the SR-60s. I use them with a Super Mini Moy pocket amp whenever I can be bothered. The speakers are just erm, the ones that came with my Panasonic hi-fi but with the grille taken off. Is that going to damage them in any way? They do look nicer with them off though. :lol

Moved my 360 upstairs. Behold my humble setup.

Is that the Hewlett Packard Pavillion W2207? I bought that one and I wonder how it does with the 360 that you're probably using with the screen as well.

Only SR-60s i'm afraid.

Alu, it is indeed the HP w2207. Personally I feel it handles 360 really, really well. Unfortunately it can't downscale from 1920x1080 so I've got the 360 outputting 1368x768 but it still looks lovely.

If anyone's wondering, that mousemat was a freebie with the UK Nintendo Official Mag yonks back.

That's some nice artwork monoRAIL.

This thread really needs some more cozy and minimalistic set-ups, instead of the boring old 'look at my 100.000 dollar super clean and boring setup'.

I used to game on a 28" widescreen stereo SDTV with only composite inputs...during the last few months I finally decided to convert an unused room into a home cinema. First came the carpet and then...

Onkyo TX-SR 605 + Mission M3 5.1 set (I could use some cable management)

Lighting makes all the difference! Each light was £2.99 at Wheelhouse.

Total cost came to about £2500 which includes DIY costs (paint, wood, brackets), the carpet, stands, projector, speakers and amplifier. I already had the sofa, glass table, wii and x360.

I see, that sounds good, I'll be looking forward to it.

The dismantled Xbox is a sacrifice, isn't it?

I would suggest you re-host your pictures elsewhere.

The HDD failed, and I'm trying to find a really cheap EIDE HDD, but no luck as of yet. I miss Halo :(

I'll try to re-host later.

lol I didn't want to say anything but yeah... Those blue neon lights... :lol Please get rid of them. Kills the whole thing. Besides that, real nice
