I can't believe those are the same pics I remembered

Anyways, I remember when I saw all those pics I was wonderin why you have em all.. Just some mad collectin? Or you have some giant family?

And if you're selling anything, please tell me lol.

Well. Those pictures are actually ancient. I'm missing a couple dozen hardware like various colors of the GBA and none of my DS Lites are pictured. But yeah, it's just collecting purposes. I already told the 1up people that I will own every piece of hardware known to gaming.

I would personally never go for a second or third tier brand. Plus that site has tvs for much less than retail. It's already considered a steal for that price.

Every single person I know who owns a Westinghouse display says that it's the best piece of hardware they've ever owned, bar none. Now, I don't go on home theater forums (AVS springs to mind), so I don't know what nitpicks people might have about them, but what you get combined with the price makes this a hell of a deal, and it's what I'm planning on buying.

Yeah. I heard great things about them as well but to me, an established brand means more. Perhaps in the future I can recognize them as one of the best but it takes many makes and models in order for a brand to reach that point.

I have to ask... where did you pick up that area rug? I've been looking for an area rug with Hanzi (Kanji) on it for ages with the colors that I want. Our living room color scheme is dark browns, blacks, tans, and greens with a lot of rice paper and bamboo. An area rug like that (with some different colors for the characters and their corresponding backgrounds) would go really well in our living room.
Home Decorators. I browsed the site for a bit and found a couple of asian rugs but not the matching style. It would take over an hour to go through the whole site so please forgive my reluctance to continue the search. You could forward a pic to their customer service department.

The setup as a whole.. it's a bit ghetto right now. Had to do some re-arranging for new TV and new furniture. Like i said, nothkng fancy but it gets the job done. The 5.1 speakers are all over the place right now.

Can you tell we have a little one? :D

New plasma TV that replaced my old CRT rear projection HDTV. Fell pretty good about my $1000 purchase.
It's Tuesday, so it's Shield time! That dutch Wagenbaugh is a BAAAAD man!

Nice movie picks for the baby, Lady and the Tramp is awesome :D

We raided the Disney library. If it's out on DVD in a collector's format. We have it. From Snow White, even to the somewhat obscure Oliver & Company.

I do want the tin of the Disney at War cartoons. All the banned propoganda cartoons from WW2. Some awesome stuff there.

I've heard of problems with westinghouse tvs as well like failing power supplies, backlights and there was some issue with the ps3 on the hdmi port of a certain model.

I also remember seeing kadey's pictures from 1up. Hi!

Awesome setups in this thread. I'm still looking for a good sound system.
My living room, 32 inch Samsung, PS3, 360, some games and Hayabusa. I've framed the Valkyrie Profile wallscroll :)

I was going to peg you as a man of reasonable taste until I saw the posters on the wall and the liquor bottles on bookshelf. Not a bad effort though, all things considered.

Cool, I really want to buy some disney movies, but I don't have a baby yet as an excuse lol.

Here's my setup. Not as over the top as some of the theaters on AVS but I did go for a 30's hollywood theater look... Did 100% of the work myself and saved a fortune.

I can't compete with people who have 9 systems and 10,000 games. I tend to play individual games into the ground and then buy a new one and repeat so my library is rather small as is my collection of consoles.

Sounds system is all hidden in the walls and ceilings. Projector is HD but not 1080p unfortunately..Not that it even shows. 720p at about 110 inches is amazing. I can go into the specifics if anyone is interested.

Here's how the room started before I built it out...

And here's after/current photos.
(The room was a loft originally and I wasnt willing to wall off the opening because it would make the upstairs looked cramped so I worked with what I had. I also wasnt willing to drywall over windows so I have a vinyl shade with black wood blinds and a velvet curtain to completely block out light during the day.)

The Projector..Had to hide it somewhat cause it was glossy white..

With the blinds open, shade up..

but... you have no games!

:P

Appreciate it.

Timewise..i'd say about 3 months total with some periods of laziness where I didn't do much. Someone dedicated to finishing could do it much much faster. I also didnt have any construction experience so I had to learn that as well as electrical, etc as I went. Hardest part was probably the details..i.e. the trim.

Cost..everything out the door including furniture...about 5000? I had some of the electronics ahead of time though.

Unbelievable job for 5k, even though you did have some of the equipment already. :)

Amazing job man. All that for 5k you say?

One day.....one day......:)

Awesome work Tapiozona. I finished my basement theater/game room myself so I know how much works goes into all that...including planning, etc.

Looks great.

Wall mounted it yesterday, so the consoles are still in a bit of dis-array.

Awesome TV... but when you go out and spend that much on a TV, I'm of the firm opinion that the rest of the decor should be similarly upgraded!

Wallpaper especially man!

Good job on wall mounting by yourself though. That thing isn't light at all!

Its sad how some people Clearly didn't understand the topic of this thread... "YOUR gaming setup" not aLLLL the gaming consoles you can fit in one picture... refering to Kadey ofcourse...

I've owned my Westinghouse 32" for about three now and the only problem I've ever had with it is the OTA lock up, which is fixed with a quick power strip reset. I knew about that problem going in, though, and it's solved with a quick call to your local cable company (I don't have cable because I don't want normal TV all that much).

Other than that, I've had no problems with it that aren't apparent in all LCD TVs.

I'll come back and let you know at the 6 month mark though but I'm pretty sure I'll have even less problems (because I'll move and we'll be getting the most basic cable package just for news, etcf).

I respect people with dedication for whatever they collect, but this is just downright ridiculous imo.

I don't see why it would be ridiculous... this is about people's gaming setups and collections and he has an impressive collection. Not begrudge a man who likes to get his collect on.

It's his own opinion which doesn't affect me at all. My parents would actually agree but that doesn't stop me from my hobby.

By the way, I'm a female.
