Using a 19" Hanns-G and my new 22" Acer (absolutely amazing, only $170 from Best Buy sale this Sunday).

I really want to replace the TV stand and the table. They are falling apart.

I think these concerns over console placement can be overdone, but I'd get that Triple off the carpet if I were you.

Hooray! Sold my 32" Sony WEGA TV and entertainment center today.

Now I'm going to use the empty old school television center that was my grandfather's which he converted into his liquor cabinet after the television crapped out on him! :D

Now must find smaller and lighter television. Want less, have more.

I'm waiting to get some money so I can buy a new tv stand. I haven't played my PS3 in months though (I've been far too busy, see that new MacPro? Yea, I need to pay that off LOL). I'm not worried.

I got no other place to put it cause my Yamaha receiver on the bottom and the DirecTV HD receiver emitts far, far, far too much heat.

Sony Bravia 32", PS2, PS3 and a samsung surround system.

I need something to put my games in though, placing them on the ground is not a solution. It kinda hides the clutter of wires though :)

I don't know if you just did that for the pic, but your sound system is setup wrong and you shouldn't keep your sub so close to your PS3.

Yeah, get that sub away from that PS3!

Subwoofers have really powerful magnets in them (I had an experience of one sucking all of the color out of my spare TV). I'm not sure what damage that could do to your PS3, but I wouldn't want to find out.

I can't wait till I move into my apartment to get to setup my stuff all pretty like the rest of you.

You are right about the magnets and they do cause damage to other electronics aside from screens. Right on the box my Sub came in it says it's recommended that it's at least 2 feet away from any electronic devices in all directions.

Quick snap I took after boxing up my LCD. (hadn't tidied things up)

The 3-month wait for the new Pioneers is going to seem like an eternity. :( I am really liking the 14,000:1 contrast I've measured on my new CRT monitor though. (somewhere around 10,000:1 once calibrated) If the Pioneers have black levels close to this at 50" then it will have been worth it. It looks like the colour reproduction on them should actually be better too.

Are you awaiting the 1080p models?

The 768p 50" will be available ~June 20th at various retailers across the country.

Yeah, I'm going to wait for the 1080p models, as they will have a higher contrast ratio, and better colour reproduction. (improved colour filter)

Also I do have an Xbox 360 but it's the uglier of the 3, so it's in the cabinet.

Almost done with my setup. Need a coffee table and more shelves from Ikea to replace the junker holding the Triple, 360, and Wii on the right and some speaker stands.

Damn Tabris, nice setup. Real nice :)

Alot of unused space on the wall behind though.

Yeah I plan to place some pictures/painting back there, just haven't found anything I really like except things I can't afford.

I finally got my setup done, and I could not be happier.
I have a Optoma HD70 DLP projector on a 90" screen, and an Onkyo Reciever and 5.1 surround sound.
My brother in law and I built the frame out of 2X4's and black fabric.

Well, another crappy quality pic..with some changes:

01. Added a 13" TV for:
-Sega Nomad with AV Cables (to play MK, MKII,MK3,UMK3)
-PSone (to play MKT, MK4, MKM, MKSF, and Arc the Lad III)

02. Added a small Coby DVD Player
03. Put the Wii back to it's "natural position"
04. Got back the flat 27" LCD screen again for:
-Playing Wii with component cables
-Playing Dreamcast (Marvel vs. Capcom 2) with VGA Cables

05. Added some more MK figures

Originally it was just a 19" Panasonic Tau with a Wii on a table...hehehee... :)

What are your experiences with the Samsung Slimfit CRT? I'm planning on getting one for college but I've heard many bad things about them, particularly the geometry.
Yep don't get one. Loved it at first(for about a week) then I realized it's issues and hate it. So many geometry issues it actually has some of the worst geometry issues out of any set. I can't wait to move on to a different set. Just waiting for 1080p to be more normal and price to drop a bit. The slimfit's also get some color spots which can get annoying.

Just DON'T get one.

Do you plan on getting a 1080p set from Samsung or does this experience lead you to consider a brand defection?

Thanks for the heads up. I guess I'll have to settle with a big CRT then.

Eh, yeah after this, I would rather go with something else but I do believe it is just the idea of the product itself(slimfit CRT) I just want a Bravia. My friend got one yesterday and I am going to bring all my 1080p shit over tomorrow. I might take some pics, it's SOO NICE. 52" Bravia 1080p setup.

Np, just please save your time and money. I honestly think you should just wait it out and get a set that will last you. You can go w/o a TV for a while. Or just buy a 30 temp set. Just be sure to get some crazy LCD for this holiday game rush.

Is that the 32" model? How does SD content look on that puppy?
Depends on the SD content in question...

I believe we tested that model on a show floor and discovered that it is unable to properly display really low resolution material. A SNES test revealed a large green bar that would appear on the screen along with additional warping.

My setup is in the closet. I have the 27" TV on a self-holstered box with the PS3 next to it standing on a thick old chemistry book I once used.

You don't want to even see pictures.

I didn't do it for aesthetics, I did it for functionality. I have a long room that move away from the access point. So I had to put the PS3 in the end nearest to the router so I can get a strong signal to play online.

If I had the option to go wired (or pay good money for a signal booster or repeater), I'd put it in front of my living area of the room.

heres my set up, just a ps3 and a xbox
