Thought so. Two of my friends built each a set looking almost identical to yours.

This summer they did the last bit and put on nice thin wooden panels on them. They were polishing, gluing and fixing with them for months :lol

They look great now though. I mean really nice. But it was long and hard work. They said that if they had known it would take so much time they probably would not have done it.

Just a heads up if you feel inclined to fix them up =P
Haha, thanks!

I'm a cheap bastard so the thought of having speakers that cost stuff-all but sound like more expensive ones makes me feel good. But yeah, I don't even know what I'm going to cover them in. My latest thought is to make them into two square lamps by putting a frame around them, covering them in an acoustically transparent fabric and shoving a bulb in the top.

I figure when the right idea hits, I'll actually finish them. :lol

walls coming soon, only lived here for **checks calender** holy shit, 8 months. i guess i should get a start on them some day.

the money shot:
SA400162.jpg

and the rest:

and just to answer the frequently asked questions in one neat bundle:

- 4 15 amp breakers, two plugs in the corner, two behind the fridge, each on their own breaker.
- 66 360, 10 wii, 5 ps3, 27 xbox, 25 ps2, 6 gamecube, 14 dreamcast.
- march 06 360, no red ring(go big fan!),
- vinyl dyed hd-dvd drive
- left TV, middle games, right computer
- about $11k
- drug runner(well actually was a courier, but a guy can dream, eh?)

Goddammit, I want a new TV. These setup pictures are driving me nuts.

Would anyone consider trading me their TV for my anal virginity? Ifso, tt would have to be 1080p and 42 in. at the very least.

Don't worry. I already had the red rings twice. Once horizontal and once vertical. I even have a fan at the back of the cabinet. Well the SNES and N64 still work. :D

With that heat 'dungeon' i cant imagine it not red ringing more that that :(

Well the PS3 and PS2 have moved since the picture. There is no back to the cabinet and fans remove heat from the rear. I really need to have the consoles out in the open but I have no space for them. Sad thing is the 1st red ring happened with the xbox on a table. I have never had the PS3 and 360 on at the same time. I am worried I may open a new dimension with them both on.

I wouldn't worry.

My first 360 lasted 8 months in a fairly confined space (probably more confined than yours in that the back of the cabinet was not open). My second lasted 5 hours in the wide open of the top of my entertainment centre.

Nothing can save a 360 if it wants to die.

Note: Taken with Nokia N73, not all that great with lower light situations, getting a N95 8gig version soon.

The last two just put up just to show new 360 Elite.

Oh and can't forget........

2 360 systems and 5 games? That little faith in the hardware? Or one is your arrrghh matey box ;)

Nah not into the peg leg shenanigans both standard 360's one premium I got at launch (yes still working fine after nearly 2 years!) and one Elite I got a few weeks ago not actua0y decided what to do with the Premium yet its not connected at all. :)

As for not having many games I get free rentals on them so don't tend to buy unless I really like the game or it's dirt cheap (Bioshock and faceplate for £31.99).

Solideliquid, thanks for posting the pics of your BenQ monitor. I ended up going with a 23" Samsung LCD because I got it off craigslist for $375.

Excellent for my room. I'll post pics soon.

Most desks are put-together-yourself. The difference is there are a few from Ikea that look much better and actually last.

Fixed. If you want NICE put-together furniture, your best bet is a Crate and Barrel or Pottery Barn, or someplace quite like it. They have some assemble-yourself-furniture that blows away ikea (both in quality and, unfortunately, in price. But you get what you pay for.)

80% of the stuff at ikea is crap and will tear up easy.

It doesn't sound like you've used Ikea furniture much. :D

Long lasting build quality is not something that Ikea furniture is designed with in mind... not that there's anything wrong with that as they are typically priced accordingly.

Well, aside from the unfortunate name, the JERKER desk from Ikea (which I use daily) is built like a tank.

In general, while they're stuff certainly isn't fine furniture, it definitely destroys most put-together stuff like Busch and OSullivan. Metal screws typically go into metal shafts, not directly into wood where they'd strip over time.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a modern desk, all the cheap shit at office depot looks like ass.

Oddly enough, Sears furniture, Pier 1 imports, Oskar Hubar and Raymore.

I love my HDTV and high def gaming as much as the next guy, but that's my idea of heaven. Nice comfy chairs and a tube TV with loads of classic consoles.

I'm might post some updated pics of my setup tomorrow. Since I posted one on here I've got my HD DVD player hooked up, rearranged my DVD collection so that my HD movies are on display, got a few more games (Big Daddy figure overlooking the scene :D), and got a couple of Pat Lee Dreamwave Transformers posters framed and up on the wall.

I love the little picture frames of SF characters that are hanging on your wall. I think they look very stylish and cool.

Do you know what is causing those dots in the Warhawk and MI:3 pics?
They may be a plasma-related thing as I get the same effect if I take a pic of my Samsung plasma. Pics of LCD's don't seem to do it. It actually looks a bit like a polarising effect which means it might be to do with some glass coating or something.

Well here's mine. Just need to get a decent audio system downstairs and i'll be happy.
