Show us your gaming setup: 2012 Edition

Here's my setup. I live in the basement at my parents house (I'm currently going to community college for a couple of years to save money). Nothing special.

Also, my room is a filthy mess. I haven't cleaned it in weeks because I've been job hunting. So tiring.

Some console games, rarely play these anymore.

Where the console gaming (usually) goes on. Most of my gaming was done here a year ago.
The PS3 is upstairs in the family room, I was showing my dad Max Payne 3.
The Wii is in my sister's room, she uses it more than anyone else.
Also the TV stand is from middle school, it held up well but I'm not really feeling it anymore.

My PC desk, where most of the gaming goes on now. It's a desk from middle school, and I hate it. I'll probably pop into IKEA and pick up a Galant next time I have the cash.

I dig it.

How do those Razer headphones sound? I've wanted to pick a pair of those up.

To me, the Razer Orca sounds great in games and music. Its also lightweight and the earcups are soft. They're comfy even on long gaming sessions. On the downside, its not noise isolating. My desk is next to a window so if its raining outside I can hear it in the background. I also stopped wearing this headphone in public because people are always looking at me because of its color.

Of course it doesn't compare to high end audiophile headphones like the AKGs and Audio Technicas. But for $60, I can say you get what you pay for.

This is my current setup:

From left to right:
26" Phillips Full HD LCD w/ Neo-Flex Pivot Stand
XBOX 360 S 250gb
Hori Real Arcade Pro VX-SA modded with Seimitsu Screw-ins

HP HDX 16 laptop on some generic cooling stand
- 4 year old workhorse, can't play anything new on that.

Sega New Astro City Arcade Cabinet

I am looking for a cabinet to store my games and all the extra nonsense that comes with them (i.e. cords, controllers). I have looked around for something that sits fairly low to the ground and is wide, has a shelf for games (bottom shelf) and a shelf for charging pads and controllers.

I'm looking for something not much taller than 2 feet, 4-5 feet wide and depth isn't a huge issue. The big thing is that it has to have doors on it (direction doesn't matter). Any recommendations GAF?

Noticed this thread was still kickin' a couple of days ago. There are some nice setups in here, I really like the clean, stylish ones like the couple just above. I could never manage that. Mine's utilitarian. I find it hard to keep the clutter down.

Pix are clickable for large versions.

I like the vibe here. This looks like the best place in the world to get trashed and play awesome games with friends.

Yeah it seems like a positively designed space, even aside from the game stuff.

I know how hard it is to balance a million gaming objects and maintain a kind of "sanity" in design, so huge props to those who pull it off.

Got a new cheapish 39" LED to keep in my "office" (unused spare bedroom). Sitting on and end table right now as I'm waiting on picking up an inexpensive tv stand. This will more or less be a dedicated gaming television, as I've elected to limit my living room television to simply cable and movies in my new apartment. The Xbox 360, unpictured, is right now just standing on the floor.

Apologies in advance if this post is gonna be absurdly long. I can shorten it if needed. Please for the love of God don't quote the entire thing.

My current set-up. Some things have changed, most noticably the retro-corner, which is something I've been wanting to do for a long time. Lack of space is definitely an issue, so it's a bit cramped, but the upside is it's damn cosy being surrounded by nostalgia.

I've also very recently gotten a new TV (Samsung 46ES8000 for those interested) which is a real step up from my last one. The game on the screen at the moment is Anna btw, a pretty decent little first-person horror adventure that was just released.

The next thing I'm gonna be changing is some furniture, specifically the little table with the Link on Epona statue, those 2 Ikea looking square things and the white one with all the figures on top. Those need to be classed up.

First off, the stairs leading up to the room:

At the gates. This place is a mess, I had to move all my boxes from inside to here because of obvious lack of space, but I like to keep them in sight. Ideally if I ever get a new (BIGGER) place I want to have shelves surrounding the room near the ceiling where I'd store all my boxes and assorted junk.

Display for my more personal favorites/ more rare games, though nothing I own is actually rare, but some of it is hella expensive these days.

eXistor, I love how comfy that room feels. I love small, cozy rooms like that, and I can imagine you doing long hours of gaming in there :)

I'm really jelly haha.

Whoa, some hot games in there.

Reminds me of my old game room when I was younger. I would never do anything like that nowadays (doesn't fit my taste anymore, at all), but it's cool to see people still doing similar things.

It's amazing to me how meticulously some people are able to decorate their living spaces. I can barely spare the effort to throw up a couple of posters. As long as it's comfortable and has the stuff I actually use (TV, systems, etc.) then I just find it hard to do much more.

Thanks for the nice comments everyone!

2 great and contrasting setup's there. UK represent eXsistor. Your set-up looks familiar but much tider that last time i saw it?

It's actually not much tidier, but I did shift some things around. A lot of boxes are now right outside the room, so that does clean the room up significantly. Also the seperate retro corner means that the wall of games only has dvd cases for the most part, which gives a more consistent look.
