After the internet brutally bastardized Shrek, how the in the fuck are they supposed to salvage it into family friendly entertainment?!

Do not stand defiant with this atrocity beneath the gaze of god.

Just in time to make some bank on millennial nostalgia.

Oh, god, when Shrek 1 was released, everyone in my grade quoted that entire film non-stop for a year - myself included. I like to think it was Dreamworks trying to indoctrinate us from an early age. It kinda worked.

First two Shrek films were sooooooo good.

However, 3 was so terrible that I couldn't even make myself watch Shrek 4 or Puss in Boots.

As long as DWs keeps making How to Train Your Dragon and Kung Fu Panda films I am happy though.

I disliked these even as a kid.
They are terrible terrible movies and a new generation should not have to suffer from the same stuff we did back then.

This thread man, I forgot how bad some of the Shrek stuff is, no surprise to see Sonic involved.

Honestly I never even heard of Universal buying DreamWorks which is way bigger news to me than anything about Shrek 5.

Dude.

Puss & Boots is so far removed from Shrek. It's REALLY good. I personally love Shrek 4 more than the other three but if I could convince you to at least give one of those two movies a chance, it's Puss in Boots.

Shrek 3 is indeed the worst one (though 2 is the worst when it comes to pop culture references I think) but 4 is by a different team. It has a much more serious, sinister story, it removes all the fluff and bullshit accumulated over the other 3 movies, the cinematography alone is on a completely different level from the others too.

I really really like Shrek 4 but seriously, Puss in Boots is so fantastic compared to the other Shrek films (ESPECIALLY 3), you gotta watch it.

He Told Them To Get Out Of His Swamp.

They Didn't Listen.

*Sound of shotgun cocking*

*Shrek kicks open door*

GET OUT OF MAH SWAAAAAAMP!!

Forever after was good, so i hope that's the direction they are taking: Playing with the universe they set up and less pop culture references.

Curiously interested.

The last Shrek movie was pretty damn good. Being a father & all, the movie hit some good notes with me.
