Anyone else catch Jared talking about a suicide pact? It's weak, but it's definitely another link to the Hitler thing lol.

I thought someone was going to open the garage and fry all the servers.

Like if Gavin won, they would open the garage to grab the servers and everything would be wiped.

Well he got fired as the CEO but he's still the fucking owner. Maybe PP takes off makes a bunch of money and we get to see Richard and Bighead just go find stupid way to spend money...........

That was a hysterical episode. loved it. Ehrlich telling off the realtor was awesome. Not as certain about this choice to fire Richard—was wondering if maybe they'll fire him as leader and keep him as a coder or something and he'll have to take back over, or if he's gone gone. Still hard not to want to see, at some point, them simply working to set up Pied Piper and running into obstacles. as opposed to insane up and down back and forth corporate drama. Long as it's funny like this one was.

Seems like the story arc being set up for next season is the company struggling to maintain its identity without Richard at the helm and ultimately needing him to stabilize again.

Either way, great finale, great season. Love this show. The part where they avoid deleting it while Richard races home had me rolling.

awesome finale. i hope the corporate plot they have set up for next season doesn't take up too much from the technical issues they face. i prefer the latter over yet another corporate satire from mike judge.

also i love how the dude always includes hip hop in his projects.

I was initially rolling my eyes at Richard stumbling to stop them from deleting it but they pushed far enough that the sheer stupidity of how they stretched it out made it great.

I swear if they deleted it I would have quit the show.

Also is that law thing legit? I mean Belgian law student here and that shit would not fly here in Belgium.

The clause would be invalid bu you'd still have a legally valid contract.

Buzzfeed picking up the stream before reddit was wildly unrealistic to me lol

What an incredible finale. I know some people get tired of the great wins followed by terrible crashes, but that ending was fantastic. Really a great setup for the next season.

I can't remember why it came up on gaming side, but someone there said that in CA you can't have no compete clauses in contracts.

I just think they could have saved the fuck up for next season. Just end the season with a win and let them be happy for 5 seconds. It's not like this makes me any more excited to watch season 3, especially since I'll have completely forgotten by the time it actually airs in a year.

I wasn't too happy about Richard's phone dying, then his keys etc etc but luckily he was back in time. So I can kind of forgive them for that bit of sloppy writing.

Other than that I really enjoyed the finale. Will be curious to see where the series is headed from here without Richard as the CEO of Pied Piper.

Will we have to wait untill 2016 for season 3?

Naturally

Dare I say Season 2 was better than 1? Can't wait for 3.

Still like the show but season 2 was a major drop off. It was way too uneven and the oh the company is suceeding/failing storyline grew tiresome. Still some funny as hell moments but soooo many jokes that just fell flat.

Damn, I was actually stressed watching this finale haha. Fantastic season. Thought this episode had a bit of everything: humor, intensity, and heartwarming moments. Excellent setup for season 3. Also, them stalling was so hilarious; very tongue-in-cheek. "This lemon is kind of bruised."

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
This ending makes no sense at all.... Yeah sure let's remove the pioneer genius of the company. Really starting to hate the show how PP always have to get screwed over....

From their perspective the pioneering genius has finished his work. He's smart but has no vision, which is what the new investors want. This is what has been shown before as well, when Pied Piper was initially just searching for possible copyright infringement.

So is bighead gonna become the head of Hooli, then hire richard as the main guy for nucleus? lol

That would pretty much end the show though.

The pioneer genius of the company has the mother of all innovations and has been completely unable to scale and commercialize. He's already provided everything he can to the project, keeping him on board is foolish (and also why you never give up too much ownership if you are a Pioneering Genius!)

This is pretty much what happens in most of these cases though. Engineer invents tech, gets funding, gets paid out and forced out.

The key point is how many times pod piper has had SERIOUS missteps, and are only still around because they are really really lucky.

1. Richard using the hooli computer
2. Deleting all those videos from that porn company
3. The security hacker fiasco

Someone had to answer for those mistakes, and usually that's the person in charge (and it just so happens almost all of those were his fault).

I think it would be an interesting turn for Season 3 as I can't help but think they crash and burn at Hooli.

It would turn it into a show about Richard and I don't think that would work. It would also bring Pied Piper into Hooli, so after they crash and burn, where does the PP team go?

Fuck I hope this doesn't mean an end to Russ :'(

The character has run its course, I mean the 2 minutes he was on-screen this episode he used the exact same jokes used in the previous episode (car door, 3 commas). If he's in next season I think he'll start getting really annoying, but I'm pretty sure he's gone.

Overall I enjoyed this season, but I feel there's some stuff that's getting repetitve and some poor writing to boot. The scene with the two women chatting about Bighead felt laughably forced, then you have Richard kicking his keys into the gutter, Gilfoyle coming up with the crazy idea once again that everyone contemplates, etc.

Things like the banter between Gilfoyle and Dinesh, Jared, and Gavin Belson still make the show well worth watching though.

He was a bad CEO though, so he was removed from that position. Still has a board seat as founder and can work on stuff.

Happened to Steve Jobs.

Great episode, but holy crap is this ever the comedic game of thrones - nothing good ever happens to the good guys and when it does they still get fucked over!

ehhhh the show's high point so far was the season 1 finale where everything came up right for the guys in a very big way last second. Them winning the arbitration was a plus, but it wasn't as big of one as them winning the competition in season 1. I think that's my complaint for the finale. Not the win-lose of them winning and Richard getting fired. They just didn't make the win as big as it was last season.

I guess I don't know what I expected because them winning the arbitration was always going to be the endgame here, but still looking back at the two finales I can't help but feel underwhelmed.

Aside from that season 2 was great. I love the turmoil that comes with watching these guys keep getting shat on.

I wonder how much the actor that plays Bighead gets paid for this season? He just has to sit in a chair with a perplexed look on his face every episode he's in.

Whenever a game uses "middleware," I expect mediocrity. Just see how poor TLOU looks.
Terrible finale. Such a drop from season 1, with all the slapstick sitcom nonsense in this episode (Richard running back to the house, the lemon tree stuff).

I can't stand Richard, he's the Leonard (from Big Bang Theory) of this show so I felt nothing @ the final scene except "good riddance". I think I'm gonna skip season 3 tbqh.

No bald cap? Lies!
I thought it sucked. I'm tired of the endless stumbling blocks. Oh look, defeat snatched from the jaws of victory yet again. The endless depressing outcomes have made the show a chore to watch for me, frankly.

Yeah this season was pretty tiring how every episode revolved around one major issue being overcome only for an even bigger one to pop up in the last minutes. It's just tiring. I had to skip ahead bit by bit for that post decision segment with Richard trying to get home, it was one of the worst segments of the season and just there to kill time. It was so played out. The whole Raviga thing is equally boring.

The characters and writing are great, but the overall trajectory and narrative felt very lazy this season.

Wtf, were those guys complete morons? Why would you ever not keep a majority of board seats in house?

I realize the show needs to keep the depressing twists going, but that shit just pissed me off. Completely idiotic business move. As a founder you absolutely have to protect yourself during the VC process.

Its funny because it happens all the time in the real world.

Because some tech guys don't know what they're getting into when they do the Series A deal and don't make board seats a sticking point.

I'd take considerably less money for the security of board control.

fuuuck son that episode was so intense near the end! i jumped out of my seat when they finally let richard in, i thought they deleted it. also that moment when justice is served.... damn that was good. Can't wait to see how Richard gets his company back in season 3, fuck that other lady.

It wasn't an option. They were literally about to fold when Russ got two. At the time they had a majority because Monica was with them. Her having to vote with her company after they bought seats catches them off guard.
