Okay, I love my new mac. However....

I have a UI annoyance I would love an answer to.

In Windows, if I have some sort of list, and I hold shift, I can extend the selection by holding shift and using the arrow keys. Same on a mac.

But if I go too far, and want to undo it-- on Windows, I can just reverse the direction of the highlight and the slected area recedes. On my mac, it starts expanding the selection from the opposite side of the selected area. THIS DRIVES ME CRAZY!

Is there some way to shrink the selected area, rather than just starting over? I cannot tell you how much time this costs me.

Finally bought a new PSP, but then pushed the demon onto someone else. Jesus.
iTunes, even on the PC does this as well... Drives me nuts.

command(apple key) click on the items you want to de-select

this also works if you have a long list of selected files but want to deselect on in the middle.

sorry, I don't think there's a way with the arrow keys. :( I hope I'm wrong tho :)

edit :wait, try option-arrow. I'm on OS9 here at work and I cant try it out. But option usually reverses directin (like opt-tab etc.)
