First details on the Sin City: Recut & Extended 2 Disc DVD set available December 13th:

Basically it'll come with the original theatrical version as well as a 147 minute extended cut with scenes put back in that fans of the book will like. To top it off the DVD set will also come with the full graphic novel for "The Hard Goodbye".

Hey, remember how some people said they were buying the barebones DVD because they were sure the SE wouldn't include the theatrical cut? Or the people who insisted (despite Rodriguez's comments) that it wouldn't be out this year? PWNED. Sounds like it'll be pretty damn pricey, though.

I own the "bare bones version" but I'll be getting Recut & Extended as well. And I already own The Hard Goodbye, but I'll take the second copy, and sell it online or something.

Son of a bitch.

I'm pretty sure that there was official confirmation that the SE would not include the theatrical cut.

Not entirely sure they did but I know that even before the bare bones release, both Miller and Rodriguez talked about how the "main" DVD would allow you to watch the film how you saw it in theatres on one disc and then on the other would be the option to watch each story individually in it's entirety that would feature all deleted scenes reintergrated into the movie.

Personally I hope they change the end of That Yellow Bastard with the real shot as it's seen in the book instead of the early test footage they used which depicted
Mort shooting himself from A Dame To Kill For.

For those curious here's a look at some of the deleted scenes in the Extended cut, courtesy of the "Making Of..." book:
