LATIN, MATRIPEDICABUS, DO YOU SPEAK IT
Cosmo calling the majority of people fat if she's considered plus size.

ITT, people freak out and don't understand modeling.
Models model to sell clothing to regular people. Not to mention that plus sized models are actually a thing, with real plus sized models modeling real plus sized clothes.

It's like me being a model for a big and tall store when I'm only 5'8.

Wait, she's 6'2. No wonder they're calling her plus sized.

She's I dunno...big boned, I guess? Nowhere near "plus sized" and whatever connotations are associated with those words.

She's clearly very fit and couldn't be your typical model-skinny if she tried.

More people disagreeing with what's classified as plus size, or just with the classification at all.

You...you thinkin' 'bout stickin'?

but it's classification specific to the modeling world. She's plus sized for fashion modeling, much like someone who is 6'2" would be "undersized" in the NBA.

She is for sure plus sized for the modelling world. Doesn't change the fact that someone at Cosmo pointed it out. And let's not mince words here...most people associate "plus sized" with "fat." THAT'S where the reaction is coming from.

I wouldn't be surprised if she wants to be called "Plus sized" as that is how she makes her money. Let's be honest, if they had just written "Supermodel" most of the comments on that FB feed would have been about how she's too fat to be a model.

It appears most people are over-exaggerating.

Heck, they didn't even say "she's plus-sized, and that's terrible". People are connoting that being 'plus-sized', or even fat, is inherently negative. I think that's more troubling.

I don't think Sir Mix-a-Lot would appreciate this model all that much. For a model her body looks a bit off to me

Tiny head. Don't tell me you can't see it.

Also she can either be an employed "plus sized model" or an unemployed regular model.

Now that you say it, this is pretty fabulous. Cosmo could very well be saying that plus sized models are fabulous, and the public is losing their shit over them doing it.

This thread gonna go places.

It's because when you see the term plus-sized in stores, it's not necessarily the same as what you see in modeling/fashion magazines - and it gets more confusing when some magazines DO show the plus-size stuff in stores and use the same terms. So for a lot of people who don't know the distinction, they'll make a natural correlation with what they see for themselves in stores since they both involve clothes and sizes.

That can't be right? I am 6'7, 147lbs
You are severely underweight.

Like, you are literally in danger of being classified as an anorexic.

Seek help.

Edit: To clarify, your BMI is 16.6. Typically, being under 17.5 is one of the major signs used to diagnose anorexia.

A plus size is size 12 and over. If she wears size 12 and over, she is a plus sized model.

Apparently facebook users think the term "plus sized" is interchangeable with "fatso."

lol yep

She is 6'2 180 pounds.

Just by looking at the ratio of her head size to her body I can tell that she is a woman who is larger in mass (in the most scientific sense possible).

By modeling standards, she does not fit into that spectrum, but maybe "plus" is the wrong term.

I know everyone is different, but I have a friend who is 6'5 and 175 pounds, and everyone comments on how skinny he is. Not to be rude or insulting, but your stats are simply scary.

So what would be the average weight for a 24 year old 6'7 male? I often get called skinny, but you guys are acting like i am dying lol
