So what would be the average weight for a 24 year old 6'7 male? I often get called skinny, but you guys are acting like i am dying lol

A 6'7 male could easily be 200+ pounds and still be skinny.

That's why I said everyone is different. People have different frames, but then again; I have 3-4 friends that are all relly tall i.e 6'5 and above, and all of them hover around 160 to 180 pounds and all are known as skinny.

For someone who is 6'7 being under 150 pounds seems very, very low. Nobody here is being judgemental, but more concerned about you, and making sure that you are being healthy.

At the end of the day, if you are happy, and you don't feel exhaustion and aren't in denial, then its all good.

If you look at most Height/Weight charts, even for a female that is 6'7 they recommend being 170 or above.

There's a reason why plus-sized men's clothing stores are called big and tall. She's in the 99th percentile for height and is therefore plus-sized.

I guess there needs to be a plus-size up and down and a plus-size sideways because of the stigma of being plus-sized. Especially since the only thing I can picture when I read plus-size models are the cute chubby lingerie models that the modelling industry themselves labelled them.

A healthy weight for you is between 170 and 220lbs.

My brother had a eating disorder for many years and was incredibly underweight, he would regularly end up in the hospital as a result.

I'm just worried.

For reference, I'm currently 180lbs at 6' with 9.5% bodyfat.

Guys, Sir-Mix-A-Lot is in the thread title. We're talking about skinny tall guys now. We're considerably off-topic.

It could very well be that your metabolism is still as active as the sex drive of a teenage boy, but the concern here stems from numbers. Are you physically active?

People hear plus size and think fat. I think it basically is bigger than the average model. 6 ft 2 180 is a big woman by any standard. Doesn't mean less attractive

See, that's what folks not in the know about the industry see as plus sized. And I'd bet my left ass cheek she's air brushed to hell and back.

Lets be clear, if she wears a size 10 and over, which I bet she does, she's considered plus size. She cannot shop in the regular section I suppose given her height.

As if she was on a magazine cover as is and people wouldnt call her fat?!
Its very hypocritical, but it's just the way we've conditioned people to think models should look. As if in the end, they're not regular "women"

Is it possible to have a eating disorder without knowing about it though? I always thought people with anorexia are fully aware with what they are doing? I do not purposely avoid eating, i just do not eat that much like at all.

What were the symptoms? Why did he end up in hospital?

I appreciate the help and concern from both of you and do not take any offense from it

Actually the opposite. I am generally pretty lazy and feel tired most of the time.

Complaining about the plus-size label of a supermodel because it offends a supposedly healthy view of women's bodies strikes me as a "can't see the forest through the trees" type of oversight.

That's what I was getting at. And I don't think that you're in any immediate danger, but consider seeing a physician about it. If you're too far gone, your body won't function properly and sometimes signs of that are, well, feeling pretty tired most of the time.

Symptoms are usually either hearth problems or always being tired since you have no energy. And yes, a lot of people are in denial about this.

I feel guilty bringing these pointers up, as I feel that I am making you nervous and possibly uncomfortable about this...

A friend of a friend I knew was very thin. I remember she fainted a bunch of times due to lack of energy and had to be hospitalised, and they said something about her having irregular heart rhythm due to her not eating.

I would say just get a physical done and make sure your weight is not affecting anything, because it is severely low if you look at ANY chart.

He was lethargic, extremely depressed, and had a very low heart rate. The reason he ended up in the hospital most often was because his heart rate got so low that it nearly stopped.

Lethargy is big sign, in my opinion. I would definitely see a doctor or a nutritionist (or both) as soon as you can, if possible, even if you feel like nothing is wrong. It's possible that something is and you just aren't conscious of it - the human body is an incredibly complex machine and a lot can go wrong, even without us knowing about it. Better safe than sorry, I say.

Anorexia just describes a lack of appetite. Anorexia nervosa is the psychological eating disorder. It's possible to be anorexic without it being a psychological issue, but rather a physiological issue.

ITT, people freak out and don't understand modeling.

Fuck modelling ....... that's never "plus" sized.

Fashion industry are one of the major causes of body image issues in women and men, there is no defending or understanding this ..... it's bullshit.

The average height for women is 5'4", and clothing is therefore designed around that average. A woman who models clothing at 5'0" would be a petite model, and a woman like the one in the OP, who is 6'2" and models clothing for that height would be plus-sized.

Men u guys are tall and skinny as fuck. I'm 5'11 and I'm 208 lbs. Anyway that girl is hot and ain't fucking plus size

So you're saying that you'd rather the fashion industry call that category of clothing Big and Tall instead of Plus Sized? Because they're analogous, as others have mentioned.

Plus sized has nothing to do with height.

In women's high fashion, most designers do not go past a size 12. A size 12 in designer clothing for women is labeled an XXL.

When regular women go shopping, there are 5 basic types of sizing:

Juniors: size 0-13 geared towards teens, and run smaller a in hips and bust than...

Womens: we call these "straight" sizes- 0-14, with sizes 16 and 18 existing on the fringe with less selection. These are geared for women 5'6" and over. There is also Women's Tall with longer inseams/sleeves. Non-numerical sizes include XS (0-2), S (4-6), M (8-10), L (12-14), XL (14-16), XXL (18-20).

Petite: same sizing as Women's, but the proportions are made for women 5'4" and under

Plus starting at size 14 and normally running to size 24 in most stores, plus sized clothing is sized larger (duh), BUT it's also cut with more room and different proportions. Much is sized shorter than Women's clothing. Plus sized clothing does include larger sizes (32 and larger), but most companies stop with a 24. Non-numerical sizes include 0X (14-16), 1X (18-20), 2X (22-24), 3X (26-28) mostly used for t-shirts and basics.

Plus Petite: same sizing as plus, with proportions for shorter women.

Therefore, the model is considered "plus sized" for the industry, but not in the real world. There are a lot of issues with plus sized modeling, because it also includes women who actually wear plus sized clothing, that most of GAF considers "fat" or "obese", but these women are showing clothing on the more typical bodies that will actually wear the clothing. The other thing to consider is that bodies all come in different shapes and sizes. The fashion industry shows us very few body types that most people do not embody.

Hum, the context is pretty clear that the plus in this instance is referring to the high fashion definition of plus sized. Don't really see the issue other than readers misinterpreting the text.

That said, holy crap, she's really tall.
