Sisu trailer - Finnish bro vs Nazis

Whenever Scandinavians are attempting to copy Hollywood popcorn movies their movies are even more generic and boring than modern Hollywood ones. I hope this one is the exception

I have been thinking about going to see this. I don't often watch movies made here in Finland but this looks great.

It is always the wierd scripts that get the hollywood treatment, lol.

12th Man and The Unthinkable are the only two Scandinavian movies I really liked in the last 10 years or so.

This one might be interesting though..

You'd almost forget that Finland was an ally of Nazi Germany during WW2.

At one point, we were. Soviet Union was attacking and took parts of our country. After Winter War, Finland was afraid of another conflict and started to get more close with Soviets biggest enemy, Germany.

And of course there were another war between Finland and Soviet Union, where Nazis were helping us and fighting with us. 1944 and 1945 Finland started disarm and expel remaining Nazi forces which started the Lapin Sota (Lapland War).

This movie takes place in Lapland, where Finland was actually fighting against the Nazis.

Ukrain was ally of Nazi Germany too

Ukrainian nationalists were allies of Nazi Germany. Ukraine wasn't an independent nation at that time, it was a "republic" within the Soviet Union and was autonomous and independent in name only. The Ukrainian nationalist from Galicia (in Eastern Poland) shared their fascists beliefs with the Nazi', had been invaded by the USSR in 1939 and saw the German invasion of the USSR as the perfect opportunity to get rid of the Communists, Russians, Poles and Jews and set up an independent Ukraine.

It's interesting how most people have no idea how messy WW2 really was. Most of us think German's main allies were Italy and Japan, the original axis of evil, but there was also fascist Spain, Romania, Bulgaria, Finland, Hungary, Croatia and Slovakia.

No it wasn't.
Ukraine had around 4000 men joining the Axis. And Ukraine had 7 Million fighting against the Axis, alongside the Russian army.
That Russians today try to erase this fact and portray Ukrainians as Nazis, only serves to show how villainous Russia propaganda truly is.
