A friend keeps recommending this. Is it poppy pop or more layered than normal ala Vampire Weekend's new album.
All kinda subjective really, but it's definitely not the "poppiest" album I've ever heard by any stretch. Sort of an 80's rock/90's grunge influence on a lot of tracks actually.

Heard about this over twitter and decided to check it out. Sick album man. Absolutely hooked on 24 hours. Heavy Metal Heart is another favorite too. Shits on the new GaGa.

I think it is. I'm not sure when.

I read somewhere that she said that Capitol isn't doing a physical release because she took so long to make the album or something

Yeah, was wondering about that. Have it on iTunes already, but I'd probably double dip for a CD copy.
I really want a CD version of this, I prefer owning physical copies of albums I really like over owning them digitally

I listened to this album today at work and liked it. It's actually poppier than I expected, which was a pleasant surprise. I'll probably be listening to this quite a bit for a while.

24 Hours is my jam right now. That and "Ain't Your Right".

Yep. I usually just stick with digital through Amazon or iTunes, but if I really like something I like to pick up a physical copy.

So after a couple days of "Everything is Embarrassing" looping while I'm doing shit online, I think I'm a convert.

Also I watched a few interview videos and the way she speaks, I love it.

Yeah, streamed a few of the tracks and I love them. Especially I Can't Say No to Myself.

But it doesn't look like it's up on iTunes?

I don't think anything on the album is as strong as Everything Is Embarrassing... But otherwise it's a pretty fun record.

First I heard of her was actually in an H&M - Lost in My Bedroom. Thought it was catchy enough. Will probably look into this.

Wanted to pick this up today but there were no copies at Best Buy. Grabbed the b-sides instead. This was a really pleasant surprise and might even make my top 10 for the year.

Love the new tracks on the b-sides album. I Can't Say No to Myself and I'm On Top are great.

But I wish Sky would make up her mind on formats here :lol the album proper was digital only initially, whereas the b-side record seems to be physical only.

I generally don't listen to pop, but this is pretty much my album of the year.

Always reaching for it, which is the sign. Such a good bunch of tracks.

Never heard of this chick before about an hour ago when I randomly read the line "Eighties-weaned diva pop" in Rolling Stone's top 50 of 2013 list (ok, also I saw her titty) and started digging through this record's tracks on Youtube. I've been getting progressively more giddy as I make my way through them. It's like this album was engineered to appeal specifically to every musical pleasure center in my brain.

Sorry for the bump, but I'm just getting around to listening to this now and it's fantastic. I love how every track sounds unique. So far I've heard grunge, 80's mall pop and industrial covered. Haha love this girl.

I assume by now everyone's heard the Guardian snippet she posted

it'll be released next year

it serves You're Not the One anthem realness, I am literally drooling all over

also of all the pop albums from last year, I still listen to this a *lot*

what a timeless collection of bops

Already really excited. Hope a new album is coming next year also.

And yeah, I agree about NTMT. One of my favourites from last year and I still revisit it.
