Skyfall Theme by Adele

eh, sounds like Adele. Nothing exciting to me yet, but I'll wait to see.

Why does it suddenly get louder and compressed at 0:39, right at the chorus? Hope that's not the final edit...

I have the MP3. Tell me how to share it. I dont want to Youtube cause they'd probably nuke it anyway

I would put Dr. No above it as well, but Dr. No is so different from the rest of the franchise it is hard to properly judge it!

Thunderball and YOLT can duke it out for 4th place!

Oh no you di'int. YOLT might be the most recognizable James Bond movie in terms of its content, but it's shit compared to Thunderball.

I like Dr. No, but you're right, it's really hard to rank that.

Nice song, but I'm more curious about the "graphic style" of the intro, if you know what I mean. Again, Casino Royale had the best one imho :)

It's being done by the same man who did CR's titles (Daniel Kleinman), so you're in luck ;)

Yeah, after I posted that

Took me all of a second to realize that YOLT doesn't compare to Thunderball. I have my beefs with the film, but overall I do enjoy it.

The underwater sequence takes me out of it..
And it's one of the few films where I think Bond's treatment of women (mostly the one at the hotel.. where he forces himself upon her) really bothers me.

They should just have Shirley Bassey do it every film, the opening sequences will be better for it.

She can't be topped.

The beginning when he punches the "woman" is one of the funniest and most unexpected moments ever. The hardest I've ever laughed at a James Bond movie.

When was the last time a Bond theme hit #1 in both the US and the UK? It's finally happening again.

Its never happened. NONE of the songs have ever hit #1 in the UK, and only ONE did it in the US (Duran Duran's "A View To A Kill" in 1985).

Thanks you for the info, I looked the wikipedia page for this artist and under the description of his Bond's work:

"The women are entirely absent – for the first time since Dr. No – in the titles for Casino Royale. Kleinman's unique sequence replaces the characteristic silhouettes of naked 'lovelies' with angular ones of men (seemingly achieved via motion capture) – specifically Bond in black-and-white and a series of colourful attackers whom he dispatches as he works his way to Double-0 status, again advancing the plot. It is all set against a stylised background of casino and card-game symbolism to reflect the central theme and the poker game scenes in the film, and is reminiscent of the original paperback cover for the novel. The only women to appear are the film's Bond girl, Vesper Lynd, glimpsed as the pack's Queen of Hearts among the cross-hairs/roulette wheels, and HM The Queen on British £10 bank notes. The sequence concludes with a focus on Bond's (Daniel Craig) ice-cold blue eyes."

I always found too cheesy the focus on women during the introduction, or more than that, the depiction of women only as bimbos.

I can´t really stand Adelle´s voice, but this isn´t bad. Personally I don´t think anything will ever top Casino Royale´s theme.

Don't care for it. It's classic Bond, but classic Bond is not what I'm after with the Craig movies, great as they are.

I had no idea there was so much love for "You Know My Name"! As soon as Casino Royale ended I walked over and learned how to play it on piano. Such a satisfying track.

"You Know My Name" is fine. I listen to it pretty often, but it isn't up there with the all time classics: Goldfinger, Thunderball, and Live and Let Die (The Greatest!). Props to Living Daylights, View to a Kill, and Diamonds are Forever as well.

For more modern songs I'm a big fan of The World is Not Enough.

The real question is, what does solo thin....

Haven't listened (at work for another hour), but since they've now gone and done the Shirley Bassey/Patti Labelle/Tina Turner big belting female voice thing again with Adele, for Bond 24 can we please get a Tom Jones-esque big male voice?
:( I await your impressions good sir!
