Skyfall Theme by Adele

When there were rumors about Muse or Adele doing the Skyfall theme I was hoping for Adele, but seriously, Muse's Supremacy is a thousand times more interesting than this.

Is it a get up, or did production seriously transform Javier Bardem into a caucasian for this movie?

New York Daily News isn't too thrilled with it.

Unfortunately, the song itself lands closer to the last, and least, of those campy beasts. It suffers from a similarly meandering melody and ponderous progression. The grandeur of its arrangement easily upstages the tune.
In other words, it's far from a killer 007 theme.
Even so, the luster of Adele's tone, and the bravura arc of her vocal, makes it enjoyable enough. And, fifty years down the line, isn't that all we really expect from a Bond product these days?

I don't mind the background vocals.

It makes it sound a bit jazzy.

I wouldn't mind them if they were doing something interesting or in another style, with some edge or gospel style sound like in Adele's other songs.

But they're so lacking in energy and don't even build with the song (they seem almost copy-pasted throughout it actually), it almost takes away from Adele's chorus, rather than enhance it.

It's decent, but it doesn't really go anywhere... I keep expecting it to ramp up a bit more and it doesn't really get that 'oomph'. And the backup vocals just aren't doing it for me.

CRUMBOOOOOO

His name is Raul Silva.

And it's looking like he's gonna be an awesome villain.

This song is so boring. At least Another Way to Die was so bad it was entertaining, and had energy to it.

This song is going to make it so hard to make it through the title sequence.

Finally listened to it with some real speakers, and I quite like it. I expected it to do a bit more after the preview cut off, but I think this is quite nice.

It's obviously selling well....when I bought it an hour ago, it was at #70 on iTunes.....now its already up to #48.

Just realized I still have four bucks left from one of those Amazon MP3 codes posted on Gaf.

So Skyfall 4 free! (Once it finally gets loaded on Amazon...grumble.)

Why are all her songs so dam expensive. $2.50 each :|

Eeeesh, £0.99 (or $1.60) over here.

The chorus is what lets it down, or rather the chorus after the bridge as I feel they didn't give it enough impact. Still, I enjoy it a lot. Listened to it about 8 or so times.

Really wanting those Kleinman titles right about now...

You only live twice >>>> * > You Know My Name (Casino Royale) > Skyfall

But the song is cool though.

Quick EON, it's not too late to scrap the backing vocals for the credits sequence!

As has been said, there are typically multiple arrangements for every theme. This is the single version, but all bets are off about what we'll hear in the film. Casino Royale, for instance, used the rock version for Cornell's single, but the version heard in the film was a completely different, much more orchestral, version.

Unremarkable like the rest of her catalog. That bit around 2:40 to the 3 minute mark doesn't fit the rest of the song. I could take or leave the backup singers.

Yeah, have to agree. I thought Adele had the perfect voice for a Bond song and was looking forward to it, but they really should have taken any other creative control over it away from her. Pretty uninteresting music... just like everything else Adele makes.
