Skyfall Theme by Adele

Newman better integrate the instrumental song into the score. I love it when composer do this (Arnold did this with Tomorrow never dies and it was aawesome), it creates a great sense of thematic continuity.

I wish I hadn't listened to it at all. Should've waited to experience it fresh with the movie itself, like I did with Casino Royale.

This is my first Adele song.

0:00-1:24 - I'm really enjoying the song. It feels like it's building up to something really grand.

The chorus is solid. It didn't really blow the lid off, but that's cool.

2:30 - The backup singers don't help this at all. I think it should should have just been Adele alone on it. I think they make the chorus sound worse.

Verse 3 is a little weak. It sounds like she couldn't think of anything to put there. I would have loved for the final chorus to be much more powerful. It kinda sounds like she raised her voice instead of getting stronger, if that makes sense to anyone.

I think the best part of this song is the music. It's absolutely gorgeous. Especially the transition into the 007 theme after the first chorus. Really smooth.

This is about 2/3 of a really solid song. If the backup singers and verse 3 were taken out and just instrumental, then she just finished up with a stronger version of the chorus, I think she would have knocked it out of the park.

Echoing (lol) the comments about the backup vocals. Their rhythm is too bouncy for the wispy tone, one needs to change. Either a bleaker phrasing or a fuller, more gospel/jazz tone would have been an improvement in my opinion.

Skyfall itself is definitely going to be tied to M and the lyrics to this theme are totally reinforcing something tragic happening to her. I CAN'T HANDLE IT :(

This photo really creeps me out. I think it's because of how the light is hitting the dude and making him look extremely pale. Creepy stalker/bad guy on public transportation... :: shudders ::

Maybe Adele's codename is 700

hehe

Enjoying the song for sure. Wouldn't say it's up there with my favourite but it's good, listening to it is just getting me even more hyped for the movie.

Favourites (theme songs):
1 - Live & Let Die
2 - You Know My Name
3 - The World Is Not Enough

With shoutouts to Thunderball, Diamonds are Forever and A View To A Kill.
EDIT: Oh and Tomorrow Never Dies, because I watched a live video on YouTube and she can really hit those notes on stage.

She's a really great singer but I wish she could say her Ls properly.

Let the Skyfowwwwwww
when it crumbowwwwws
We will stand towwwww
Face it owwww, together

It's such an incredibly boring song. There's a build-up but no real pay off, very anticlimactic. It's not even a good Adele song. And now that the winter starts, it's going to be all over the radio stations.

Ugh.

It's still better than the Jack White song or the one from Muse.

Seriously? That does not even remotely fit the Bond style.

And Adele does not sound like she has a cold. That is her voice. Just listen to some of her songs.

I like Adele. Her first album and 21 were great but something seems off about her delivery in this one. I don't know whether it is a more lazy effort compared to other songs or because of her vocal problems.

The song seems to suggest that Skyfall is a location.

I figured it was a codename for a previous case, but it definitely suggests that it's an acutal place. (Perhaps a codename for a place.)

Well, do you really want to know?

Skyfall Lodge. A location and a codename.

Not doing anything for me, but don't dislike it. Sounds like a standard-issue film OST track to me. Really surprised at the reaction this is getting here, honestly.

The trailer for the film looks great.

I agree with this post start to finish.

Great song with great instrumentals, Adele has a good voice, backing vocals are almost comically bad, song doesn't progress enough towards the end.
