Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition Coming to XBO/PS4 on 10/14/14

Downtime in October? The month that had enough games delayed to make February 2015 stacked?

I agree with this release. But I'm speaking in general. There are times where there isn't enough releases. So I have no issue with older games being re-released with updates. I would rather have that option, vs nothing at all.

I would only take issue if these kind of releases were delaying new titles. Although, I do think the $60 price point is a bit silly (for some of these titles that are years old).

Huh. I really liked Sleeping Dogs, but I've never been the least bit tempted to re-play it since. But I'd totally be into a PS4 remaster.

I don't like this trend...

Make new games and IPs dammit!

This port is NOT canceling their new game. Why the hell do people think it's an A or B option?

I find it to be an awful start for this generation.

Milking games for all it's worth so far. I understand not everyone got to play those "remastered" games but c'mon now... You could get the whole thing for less than 6 dollars with all DLC on pc.

My PC won't even run Sleeping Dogs as good as the Xbox 360 version. It's for making pie charts. *leaves to drop $$$ to get 1080p/60 Sleeping Dogs PC!*

And I just view the remasters as exposure for the IPs while the devs work on the sequels. Except for The Master Chief Collection. That's because the universe loves me.

Going head to head with GTAV doesn't seem like a smart move. Why didn't they release this earlier, before they had competition?

I'm so confused, what part of Sleeping Dogs needs a " definitive edition" port? I mean, it's a great game but nothing about it screams "needs next gen port". 60 bucks is kind of insane too.

..This is weird.

I found the original to be a great surprise that I was really thankful became a PS+ game otherwise I would never have played it. But it has to be an extra special remaster to get my money at full price, I'd happily play it again, but only when it is lower.

1. This wasn't an official announcement yet, price is subject to change possibly.

2. A lot of people never got to play the original, for those people, paying $60 for the game with all content is a reasonable price and likely the target of the game in the first place.

Key word "had"

It still has enough games to make it the most stacked month of the year.

Alien Isolation
Shadow of Mordor
The Evil Within
Lords of the Fallen
Civ: Beyond Earth
Sunset Overdrive
Assassins Creed
Bayonetta 2

if you still have your 360/PS3 setup there's Borderlands.

PC players already have the DE. :/

Nope. DE in the case of Tomb Raider meant a new face and updated model for Lara with updated skin effects and TressFX that never came to PC. Plus, had a number of adjustments to the islands lighting and effects.

This will drop a lot in like 1-2 weeks after release.
Tomb Raider DE only just hit $30 this month. Sleeping Dogs sold less originally, but not that much less to make it a 1-2 week insane drop.

Hopefully, they drop the price like ND did on TLoU, but not for me either way, I still haven't played me free PS+ version yet.

You mean Tomb Raider?

Anyways, why don't you ignore the games instead of bitching? No new game is being canceled because of these ports. Naughty Dog is releasing Uncharted next year, Crystal Dynamics is releasing Tomb Raider next year, and United Front Games has a new game in development.

I will obviously be ignoring the game as I own it on PS3 from PS+ , this game has been practically free* on Steam and GMG multiple times
My "bitching" is about the precedent of charging retail prices for remastered games even though the development team that goes into it is a fraction of the original, cause I'm pretty sure this is a discussion forum.

I never claimed it impacted games in development

Here we go with the PC comments. Sure, it's the definite edition if you want to spend that much more money on a rig. Jesus fuck. You god damn PC elitists and steak Nazis (taken from the other thread).

Absolutely lovelovelove the game. Played the hell out of it on the PC. I would love to add this to my PS4 collection, but this needs to be priced appropriately.

Most had picked up the game after launch for less than $10- there's no way this should start at $60.

What? TressFX is already on the PC version.

It only sold decently, so I think it's pretty insane to sell it again at $60 to an even smaller audience. I can see it dropping fairly quickly, but who knows.

If only publishers could make remasters and new games at the same time.

Oh wait, they totally can.

"Remasters" as they're apparently called now, don't just spring into existence. Someone, somewhere, is spending time making these things. Time that could be spent making new things instead.

Except for the people working on Majora's Mask 3D, they have my permission to make that.

I would have bought for $50 to reexperience the game, but for $60? Eh, they can shove it. I don't feel the DLC is that substantial either.
