Sleeping with the window open

It's gotten warmer this past week, so I've been sleeping with the cool night air drifting in. Recently I've had a bad sore throat upon waking. It's probably related, but I thought the fresh air would be more beneficial? With the window shut it gets too stuffy. Argh. Are you open or closed folks?

you're probably allergic to something floating outside.
I sleep with the windows open every night, even during the winter. And without socks on. Fuck socks.

Hell yes. I love the feeling of a cold breeze coming in while I'm comfortable under my warm blanket. Conversely, I don't like sleeping in the summer as much because I don't like keeping the A/C on all night — my electric bill is expensive enough as is.

I try to mix AC and fresh air during the summer. I just read the forecast and act accordingly.

I feel kinda odd, I guess, if I run the AC non-stop. The fresh air around here is so nice with all the trees.

My bro snores like a BITCH when the window is open. Maybe you snore really ugly when windows open?
This is probably it. I've been poked for snoring these last couple o days.

I literally can't breathe when I sleep with the window open. Damn allergies.

Doesn't bother too much in the day, but I always wake up during the night because of it.

People will skeet in your mouth while you sleep. It's called Midnight Window Shopping in the New York skeet scene. So close the windows.

The motherfuckers below me smoke weed all the time, so if I open my window, I have to deal with my room smelling like weed all night.

Their smoking literally costs me around $80 in extra AC costs = (

window open, door open, out of covers, no socks. People really sleep with socks? I don't even sleep with socks during the winter.

Saves you $60 a month in weed and sleeping pills. Probably increases your Cheetos outlay though.

Call the cops, save $80

Spiders will crawl in your windows... BLAHH!!

I can't sleep well with the window open; all the car noises, street noises, people talking, dogs barking.
Isn't that song lyrics?

I can't sleep with the window open
All the Car Noises
Street Noises
People Talkin
Dogs Barkin
Sleeping with the window open
gives me a stiff neck
and a sore throat
oh yeah
I can't sleep with the window open

I love sleeping with the window open but in the summer it's just too hot. Spring, Fall, and part of Winter, definitely. Once it's cooler at night than I like to keep the A/C then I will open the window, but that won't be for 3 months or more probably.

I'm glad you can afford to keep the AC running all night :/
I don't know where Agrajag lives, but where I live I can't afford not to keep the AC on all night when the overnight low is 80° F.

I'd love to sleep with my windows open regularly when the weather is right, but too many people stroll through my neighborhood late at night talking at an unnecessary volume.

I'm going to try this tonight! I've done it in the winter because it was too fucking hot and I wasn't allowed to touch the thermostat but I've never really had a reason to do it in the summer.

Never notice that :lol
I'm not in touch with music.

Windows open all year round. Fan in my room to blow the cool breeze all over and get some circulation in this motherfucker.

I agree with the above post. Fuck socks.

Damn, if I slept with my windows open I would wake up with mosquito bites all over :lol It's too cold out lately anyway, awful lot of raining.

Dealing with the same shit here. Except I also had a fan and a really shitty AC running as well.

regarding fans.

They actually create heat in a sealed room. That is to say, they might push around air, provides an immediate drop in percieved temperature due to wind chill effect, but they don't actually remove heat from the system. On the otherhand, their running motors create heat over time, helping to heat up a room (over time) on a hot summer day.

I can live with that.

105 degrees today and no A/C in the house.. yeah, I'm going to sleep with the window open, not because I particularly like it but because I won't make it through the day if I don't. Also, I have a fan blowing under the covers so that I can sleep naked, and still get a breeze on me, without getting arrested for indecent exposure.

During the summer in Scotland I'd occassionally sleep with my window slightly open. Any further open and I'd wake up with bees, wasps and even birds in my room when I woke up.

In Korea, I'd rather sleep swimming in sweat than deal with the noise and dust kicked up by the construction yard next door. That and since I'm not used to air conditioning, it's too loud to sleep with.

I know right. What type of neighborhoods do these guys live in? Sounds like something that only happens in family sitcoms.
The sixth floor of an apartment complex?

Look, if they grappling hook their asses up here, then they deserve it.
