Slingshot Minigame in Mario 64 DS > you.

79800 on slingshot. Keep one of the flowers near the pole for last. Then hold off your shots... HUGE points. I've gotten a 6400!!!

58 on wanted.

So, is slingshot the best mini game?

MAKE IT HAPPEN NINTENDO!
Since there is only one touchscreen pressing L/R will switch screen positions.

I fully endorse the idea of LucasArts porting these classic adventures to DS:

The Secret of Monkey Island 1 & 2
Maniac Mansion & Day of the Tentacle
Indiana Jones & the Fate of Atlantis
The Dig
Full Throttle
Sam & Max

Until then, no purchase.

They should make a Simpsons adventure game. At least that way it would sell. Plus it fits the style.

As for the mini-games, I've unlocked all of Yoshi's and all but 2 of Mario's (or is it three?). Luigi's got about 5 missing I think, and I've not unlocked Wario yet.

Luigi's games can be kind of fun, but I wish Nintendo had just included some card games like solitaire. Something really easy to implement, but can keep me entertained for longer.

you're missing out bro. Those games would seem so dated compared to what we're already seeing on the DS. Mario 64 already kills any of those old games.

You can't really compare the games. And I disagree anyway.

I'm on 56 on the Yoshi Shell game so far... have to go to work, but man.. I LOVE pause and sleep mode.. waiting for me til I get back. :P

77,700 so far on this game. At first, I wasn't as thrilled with this game as I was with some of the others. But, then I started doing a lot better, and now it's probably my favorite. I love Wanted! as well; my high is 56 on that one. My other favorite is Bounce and Pounce, 44 on that one.

Is there any way to record directly from a DS? Or would I have to use a vidcam?

What would those be? I've got one that I can use to capture stuff that uses audio/video cables (consoles), but I've never heard about anything like that for portable systems.

EDIT: Regardless, I can record some vids of the minigames using my digital camera if anyone wants to see them. Would anyone be willing to host them?

What is this trampoline mini-game?

It's the best one. Super tip: always have a huge trampoline across the screen at the bottom, so in case you miss a Mario higher up, he will still be saved.

By the way guys, there is at least one more slingshot game later on, in which you shoot spiny balls up into two flying bathtubs.

I can host.

Just got 236 on Wanted, beating my previous high score of...ermm...36.

I was so in the zone. I'm telling you, that was zen gaming. 3 times I found the character on 1 second left too.

Yeah...

I'm confused as to what the "Yeah..." refers to. It seems that either you don't believe me, or you think the whole "zen gaming" thing was fucking lame.

Ok, me and my gf just got 101 and thought that was impressive. Our record previous to this was 25. Dayum!

It's not like the game gets any harder after a point. I honestly don't think there's a difference between the difficulty of Level 50 and Level 200. If you can get to 101 you can definitely get over 200.

Eventually you'll lose, sure, but it's generally just because you're getting bored and you concentration starts to go.

I've got it paused on 300 right now. I didn't really want to play the game again so soon, but for some reason it didn't save the 236 score so I wanted to try and get it again.

I almost want to let myself die, the game's gone on so long, but I have 50 seconds left and I know I'd regret it later if I did.

The Mario trampoline game is super addictive. The minigames IMO are basically worth the $40 alone. For like the first time ever, I can hand over my game system to my girlfriend or sister and they can play too.

Say what you want about the dual screens, but the touchscreen idea is completely brilliant.

I can't wait for full games like Kirby DS and Yoshi's Touch N' Go that use this capability in all new ways.

I'm a huge fan of the second Luigi card game.

Same here. I like how it keeps track of your current total, so everytime you start playing it again, instead of starting over, you pick up where you left off from. I've got over 200 coins, and Luigi's mixed up the game by introducing 2 new cards.

Like Wario cards? Neato. :D

Just put up a score of 105,800 on slingshot. My previous best was 78,000 and once I passed that I got a bit twitchy, actually that's a huge understatement. I fell apart once I hit 100,000.

I'm a huge fan of Luigi's 2nd card game as well, just after putting in a 45 minute session. Damn these minigames are addictive.
