The lower one is just a bad picture. They're the same. I think it's just a bit "silvery". Unfortunately I'm moving soon, so I can't check my own cart because I have already packed it away. I don't remember there being anything special about it though.

Since SFC carts don't stack as evenly as NA SNES ones, I'm thinking about getting a case for my loose ones. Anyone know where I can buy something like these?

I bought Treasures of Rudras. It started off great and peaked my interest from the start but after awhile got stale and repetitive for me, it's kinda become a drag to complete.
Went to a swap meet today. I was primarily looking for reasonable deals on Gamecube stuff (component cable, PSO 1&2, Cubivore; didn't find any) but if anything else that I was interested caught my eye, I had cash ready and games in my bag if they wanted to trade. Despite not getting what I went there for, I'm really happy with what I found.

Played it again earlier after about ten years. I have no idea what must have been going through my head when I made that hack, and its hilarious that its now included in pretty much every romhack compilation online

What are the benefits of the Everdrives vs the Clones, out of curiosity?
Aside from feeling good about giving your money to the creator rather than people who have stolen his work, the clones have a poorer build quality and crap out more easily, and they also use cheaper parts (so their lifetime will be much shorter, even if they function normally). There's also no support available for them, whereas Krikzz will help out if any genuine Everdrive ever gives you trouble.

So just got my Konami Hyperbeam wireless controller
And it is AWESOME.
IR, but works from every angle. You have to completely block the view for it to not work. It's seriously as good as it gets for this tech.
No perceptible lag (haven't fully tested yet). Of course if you're playing World Warrior tournaments you might want a wire.
And the pad itself is also great, maybe the best 3rd party pad I have ever used (except the Hori Mini Pad on N64). Takes 3 AAAs, and is slightly fatter than the original SNES pad. But apart from that you'd assume NIntendo made it themselves, the build quality is fantastic.
And it's Famicom compatible too!
Oddly, the Konami and Fami/Super Fami logo stencilled on the front are very poor quality and slightly wonky - very weird for an otherwise perfectly engineered device.
Highly recommended. I might make it my main pad for both systems for convenience, though I do love my NES dogbone.

When my copy of Link to the Past died, I embalmed it with an Everdrive, a copy of itself, and the Satelliview games.
It's probably most like having a beloved pet stuffed and mounted in one's living room.
Except I guess you don't keep the original innards in a desk drawer with dead Genesis parts with the pet, I guess.

Well it started getting more and more errors, so Krikzz said to add a jumper to replace the diode, which apparently just functions to protect it if you put the board in backwards (not a problem for me) so I just added a jumper and now it works perfect!

But some of these games are just barely affordable if you buy cart-only. If you buy cart-only, you don't get to see the lovely full-color instruction booklets! What kind of gamer would ever accept a world where you had to look online to read the game's instructions?

Saw three copies of Thracia 776 in Osaka over the weekend: Nintendo Power edition, Boxed release edition, and limited edition. As much as I wanted the other two, I had to go with the Nintendo Power edition due to cost. Hopefully the flash rams are durable. It works for now at least.
If I had a copy I'd loan it to you for free. That game defined what a "game" could be to me.
As it stands, I have a Japanese copy that I can't read, and I hope I can find a broken / non-saving USA copy to transplant into it at some point. That is, if the USA boards fit in the Japanese shells.
