SNK is mocking Turks in the Fatal Fury trailer

At 0:08, the character dubbed in Turkish is depicted as a one-eyebrowed, crooked-eyed guy who wants to become a poker 'table'. Why would a Turk say something like that? Why would only one nation's name be mentioned in such a trailer, and why would the person supposedly representing them be portrayed like that?

Looks like SNK has sold their honor for Saudi money too. It's pathetic.

dude... he's from Bosnia and lives in Sweden... pretty sure that was just a light-hearted joke he came up with 🤣
his humor is completely random and nonsensical most of the time.

I don't know the culture. Is there a stereotype of a turkish goofball? In the US when I was growing up, indian men were always goofy characters. The exception I can remember from the eighties was from the short circuit movies where the leading (human) character was an indian scientist who was mild-mannered but brave. Otherwise, they ran convenience stores and took shit all day from anyone who went by.

SNK Salvatore Ganacci is mocking Turks in the Fatal Fury trailer, and SNK paid him money not knowing this (allegedly).
It's on official snk channel so...
pretty sure that was just a light-hearted joke
You should check the comment section if you want to know how Turks think about this lighthearted joke.
his humor is completely random
It's not looking random this time. Everyone thinks it was done under the direction of the Saudi part of the company(like how they forced a Cr7 character).

There are those who say that Turks are often seen as croupiers, but this is the first time I've heard of it. Still, it doesn't explain the stupid look.

The Ottoman Empire used to be one of the most powerful and long-lasting empires in history. Now they make funny ice creams that make you laugh.

America, European countries are mocked all the time in media from all sources of the world.

As soon as it's some middle eastern country there immediately up in arms. I'm aware turkey is in Asia minor but I'm basically talking that part of the world .

They bankrolled a commercial he was in charge of and posted it on their channel.

Surely this can't be your first time seeing a large company unknowingly give money to someone who has done something controversial. I can name some directors and musicians if you want. This situation is even more muddied because it's a melting pot of a Japanese company doing worldwide publishing with Saudi money.

People can boycott SNK to have the video taken down, but any blame still lies at Salvatore's feet.

Exactly. Japanese game devs have been poking fun at Americans for decades and we fucking love it.

Ok maybe it's just me but i don't get the joke at all lmaoo. I don't understand why this dude is famous lol. Like WHY????

I hope you are joking, this is just a dumbass joke, it doesnt attack any people.

If a Korean appears in a commercial and he slips on a banana while he sings kpop, do you think thats racist against koreans?

This does reek a bit of overblown outrage. And going by the comments of the video it's apparently racism against Turks. Are Turks their own race, I don't get it. A silly looking guy talking nonsense in Turkish, sure.

If you have sand in your vagina and frequently visit the purple place, I can get that it might skirt the edges of mockery for you. But racism?

As Americans, We get called fat and lazy all the time, and we supposedly worship God on an alter filled with guns, lol. despite being a comedic blanket statement.
Why should this be any different?

like, let's say it was actually on purpose and written like this by some Saudi guy... who cares?
even if deliberately done to mock Turks, this is so extremely harmless still. try being german, british or french...

this is a constant joke about brits across media:

the french are constantly mocked as being dirty, smelly, arrogant, and waving the white flag at any aggressor.

and germany is basically a constant hitler joke with lederhosen

"oh no, someone made a completely nonsensical joke with a goofy looking Turkish character! THE HUMANITY!"

like, come on...

This is unprecedented. Why not make jokes about America, France, Russia, Germany, Sweden, England, Scotland, Ireland, Egypt, India, China, Japan, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Australia first? Nobody has mocked those nations before.

That's why Turkey still isn't part of the European Union after 50 years trying to get in: no sense of humor, too much of a victim mentality and at the same time extreme nationalism.

Uh-oh! Time to rename Istanbul back to Byzantium.

Istanbul, not Constantinople you mean. But that's nobody's business but the Turks.

Maybe they wanted to include some DEI and included a very marginalized gender, those who identify as poker tables. Are you pokertablephobic by considering that it is a joke? xD

Americans are on average fat but not lazy

Fuck the EU

In my experience, Turks are often the most obnoxiously nationalistic people you'll encounter online. A little humor at their expense sounds acceptable - why should they be considered off limits unlike virtually every other nation?

It's because all this time hot air balloons need the balloons to fly because of some policy, not because of physics. Since there isn't anyone to force the policy (no cops) he could fly without one.

It's a decent joke but it would be more in home as a throwaway gag in a movie like Naked Gun or something. Having a whole video upload, with high production values, just for that feels like trying too hard.

Also, i had no idea this guy existed before this thread.
