Anyone ever grown the stuff? How difficult is it, how long will it take to get some real good buds growing, and is it worth it?

I have a huge gun locker in my room that's kept locked all the time for safe keeping for my mauser. My parents won't go near the thing because they're afraid of guns, so I figure that's a good spot to keep the stuff in.

So anyone who's ever done it... drop a line with some suggestions.

I've done the Ultraviolet dream. Easy as pie. A gun locker is kinda pointless just go outdoor or get more room. It's fun as hell to grow I miss growing more then I miss smoking it.

Pot when budding fucking stinks. Don't even think they wouldn't find it based on the enourmous smell emenating from your room. Also make sure you use Halogen (sp) or I think Metal hyalide (aslo fucked up the spelling on that) lights. I grew some under flourescent lights and it came out stringy. Not enough lights. It's all amout the strength of light, which needs to be carefully monitored, to much or to little light will make it flower at the wrong time. ventilation is extremely important too.

I grew it in my cupboard about 2 years ago, it was the worst kept secret in the world. People could smell it walking in the front door, which was bad as I lived on the second story in a huge block of flats and the front door was on the ground floor.

Oh and watching it grow is fucking awesome. I mean, you can see it changing every day. Grows really fast.

Are you emplying that I should rely on natural sunlight to grow it outside? I don't know if I'd be able to keep it safe outside, let alone keep it secret out there since my family is always doing something out there.

Hotdamn that's good advice. Maybe I will have to keep it outside... but how? Would the light of the sun work well for it, of should I find another light source? If I was to get a metal hyalide light, how would I keep it outside? Are those fuckers battery powered.

Big time noob. I'll google it up, but these stories based on experience are helping just as much.

I guess it depends were you live. I have grown indoor and outdoor. Outdoor you get mad quantities but lower quality. Allthough I've seen some amazing outdoor stuff. Indoor you have complete control so you can normaly get higher quality. You have to be smart indoor though. Pot is one of the fastest growing plants in the world. It's not uncommon for idiots to leave it for a day or two have it hit the lights catch fire and burn the damn house down. Plus the many electrical issues that come in with fans and lighting. If you grow indoor in small place like that your going to need expesive equipment to cover the smell.

I knew someone who had a plant in the backyard and that thing was extremely smelly. I don't think the plant even got to the budding stage. He grew it mainly out of curiosity but because of the smell, he decided to pull the plant out.

Cool. I'll go with outdoor then, I'd rather not take those chances. I actually thought it grew really slow, too...

Wow, these things truly do reek, eh? Well I have found a spot outside I can keep it nice and secret... so I'll go for that... Especially since it's going to be spring soon. I can get the seeds tomorrow, I think.

I'm on the west coast in Canada so we have great weather for outdoor. You have to watch it in the fall cause if you get too much rain it will mold. The worst is the damn animals, deers, and rabbits will home in on it like you wouldn't believe.

Mother fucker, that's all we got around here in Connecticut! I'll have to take my chances with it outdoor though.

Great advice though, I really, really appreciate it.

Germinate your seeds then grow it in a window. You can't just move it from indoor to outdoor all at once. You need to ease it into the outdoors. put it out for a few hours a day to help the little guys adjust. Up here we do the final transfer on the may long weekend. Were not heading into the woods to camp. LOL

The hardest part about growing is killing of the males. You tallest plants are always male. The one your most proud of will need to be sacrificed. You'll almost shed a tear.

One thing to help with the animals is every time you go to your crop piss around the perimeter. You need to claim your territor just like an animal. The problem is you want to try not to go very often so people dont see you. The people watchign you comes with smoking too much. But if you don't go often enough the human scent will fade and your crop will become a smorgasborg.

Quality of seeds is paramount as well. If you just pull some seeds out of some seeded bud, then you will probably get crap weed.

Also, so you don't rip yourself off and end up with ounces of cabbage, you want to plant a few plants and then identify the males and RIP THEM OUT. A common misconception I always here is "Yeah, males are the ones with the seeded bud" This is NOT TRUE

Seeded bud is a result of a female plant being near a male for to long. The simplist way to remember how it works is to liken it to humans. Girls are the ones that get pregnant from a guy spewing his load in her (for lack of better term) Same is true for weed. A pregnant female = all seed and no bud. MALES ARE THE DEVIL for you. Identify them quickly and rip them out before they blow their load on your lovely females. You can tell the sex of the plant fairly early, because where the new shoots grow from (you will observe this within 1-5 days easily) once they start to mature what comes out of there on a female looks like a white hair, that's the beginnning of a bud. If it's a boy, they grow "ball bags" there instead. That's the horrible pollen that will ruin your plants. Rip these plants out immediately.

I think there is a website with pictures of boys and girls. something like erowid.org or similar.

There is no way to ensure the sex of your plant that I know of (I have heard theories, none of which I really believe) just plant double or triple the number of plants you want because sex is 50/50. Once again KILL THE BOYS.

Shit, does that honestly work? I hope your not pulling my leg, because I'll probably try it.

And nobody will see me do it. I found a spot way up in the back woods, and luckily my neighbors keep to themselves as long as we don't make too much noise.

It worked for me some guys throw a few moth balls around that apparantly works as well. Another very helpful thing is if your not getting enough rain anf you need to water by hand always leave the water in an open container over night. It allows the clorine to evaporate and is much better for the plant. Grab a book on fertilizer it's been a few years and I can't remember the order you fertilize. There are three differnt fertilizers and the plant needs more them at different times.

Android I'm in Langley.
