So how bad is the Switch stock situation?

You can take advantage of the deals and then pre-order whatever triggers the bonuses and put the remaining balance on a gift card. Then when they are in stock you cancel the pre-order and the full trade in balance is available. If you have games or accessories to trade make sure you pre-order a random switch game to trigger the 40% bonus. Systems don't count towards that bonus unfortunately.

This is some crazy gaming of the system, dang.

I would hold the 3DS until the 19th when the deal ends and check everyday. Sometimes they open up pre-orders for incoming items so that might happen. Or they might randomly receive stock one day. The extra 40% towards switch items ends that day as well.

That was basically what I was planning on, just holding onto things and hoping some stock shows up randomly.

Gamestop does force bundles, so good luck with that.

from what i've understood about bundles and how they've done things in the past, is that you can return parts of a bundle to the store, so it's not so bad... I think.

Only if they list the bundled goods separately on your receipt. There is no guarantee that they will do that though.

Edit:

Still waiting on my tracking info to update even though it shipped yesterday supposedly.

A week on and it is still in stock in Australia, Nintendo have said the console is their strongest launch in A/NZ so I guess they just overshipped to us.

Or its a sign of just how weak nintendo is here.

Looking around stock still seems plentiful. Though Big W seems out of the neon Zelda bundle currently.

Our district of target stores won't see any till April (so cal), thus joining all the empty Nintendo hardware shelf space. 3DS stock is still limited. We got 6 classic NES's a month ago... wiiu hasn't existed since mid December; and with the removal of the wiiu signage/hardware display, farewell wiiu.

I get selling out of initial stock and having to wait.

I don't get why it would take till sometime in April to ship another wave.

I wish the 20+ copies of #FE that have been sitting at my local target since launch day would go on clearance.

Try Target in store. When I went for my case there were 3 pro controllers just sitting on the shelf.

I did today. Went to a shopping center today and Walmart, Best Buy, GameStop, and Target were all out. This is the first time I've ever had trouble finding a controller for a console. I guess this isn't a first for Nintendo though since the Wii had the same issue with Wii remotes

Nowhere to be found here in Osaka, Japan.

Wonder if next week it may get restocked or not. I'm craving some Zelda, but otherwise the system isn't really looking too hot for me right now.

Called 8 different Gamestop stores in SC and GA this afternoon. All of them said they aren't expecting any stock until April. /shrugs

Hard to say. But after the poor sales of the Wii U maybe they were apprehensive about going all out on production.
Maybe they are still doing the "fake" shortage to keep hype levels high.
Maybe that's just how they do business now, I mean the NES mini still isn't widely available. You can find them but it's not like they are just in stock on Amazon when ever you feel like ordering one and that thing is what 5 months old at this point?

I'm trying to find a Pro controller and i can't find one anywhere in the US

Nothing surprises me anymore tbh

saw like 7 of them at my toys r us today, maybe check there if you have one?

Do we know if this is true?

heard this is what people did with NES classic bundles, and previous bundles. But the poster above said this is not possible if they don't inventory each item as their own on the reciept, so who knows.

Forgot to mention that I also stopped by a toys r us on my way home and they were also all out. There's another toys r us near my house, I'll try that one tomorrow.

I live in a busy part of Southern California so maybe that's why I'm having trouble finding it

Toys R Us in Upland had them last night. Give them a call if you're near that area.

Thanks for the heads up but that's farther than I'm willing to drive. I'll try the other toys r us tomorrow and if they don't have it I'll just wait.

I'm in LA btw. Tried the Burbank toys r us today. Tomorrow will try the one in LA

I get my bundle tomorrow. I'll report back.

A guy at the Toys R Us by me said to check in every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday as those are when their FedEx shipments come in. But that they don't know what is coming until the deliveries show up.

My copy of Zelda came today. Hoping my amazon.es order will come when promised....of course we are supposed to get a bunch of snow here on the east coast. :|

Guys check your Brickseek. I happened to check Walmart and their Neon was 1 more than before, I called up here and they said they had one Neon sitting there. On my way now

Mine said they had 45, but when I got there yesterday they didn't have any. I was surprised the number was off by that much.

I'm here now, gonna get it in a minute. The worker says it's a ship-to-store that was never picked up.

Ha the guy at mine said call everyday around 4 PM as that's when they get shipments. Maybe every store is different.

There were 15 across the Meijer and Walmart I checked on launch day. All gone by the end of the day, but were still there well into the afternoon.

My Walmart still has a pro controller and ac adapter on the shelf.

That's what I had been hearing they were, but 45 just seemed like a lot for one store so I thought they may have received some. I called and they said they don't have anyway.

Yeah just called every Walmart in a 20 mile radius and no luck. It's also possible that some workers are just saying no to get off the phone now.

Checked a bunch of stores near me and nothing. Almost went to the GameStop but didn't want to out of principal. I know some have had luck returning items in the bundle, but for some reason it kind of annoys me they're holding consoles in favor of bundles.

I usually check Brickseek every morning and a few times throughout the day and this morning I checked and it said 4 Neons were in stock and had said 3 for days so I called up and that's when she said they had one more.

I've been so on the fence with getting one because of time constraints and such, saw a gray in store a few days ago and kicked myself for passing it up. I would have liked to get the bonus points from Best Buy or use Targets Red Card and get 5% off, but oh well.

It was site to store. And I was at the electronics section and it was sitting behind the glass case. She said it never got picked up or something.

Aren't site to store orders paid for when ordered on the website? Or would they pay when they pick it up?

My auction is now $300 plus shippin with four days left. Glad I didn't waste money at the very least! Hoping we get to $400 so I can afford some of these March games.

Hope your eBay auction doesn't go like my wifes last one where the buyer claimed what she received isn't what she bought, asked for a refund, ebay approved it, and we got back a box of newspapers instead and eBay still sided with the buyer since the box had a tracking number. It was only for a $40 decorative ceramic which is a weird thing to scam for, after that being the 7th or 8th time we've been scammed on eBay in 15 years I have decided to never sell on that shitty site again. The "greatest" thing is when a stolen ebay/paypal account buys your item, then they do a chargeback and paypal doubles the pain by passing along the $20 chargeback fee to you, the seller. Yay!

Also @ $400 ebay/paypal will charge $54 in fees (10% + 3.7% paypal) so not really sure how much money you are making there, seems a bit crazy to me to risk $300 fraud buyer for a $30-50 profit but whatever works for you I guess.

Checked all Toys R Us in my area and no luck. This is crazy. I didn't have this much trouble getting a PS4 on launch day
PS4 set the record of best selling launching month ever for a console in US with 1.14 million units sold in November 2013.
Switch stocks are probably much lower (it's also March instead of the Holiday).
