How accurate is istocknow? A few walmart/Target stores show they have had in in Stock for days now in Miami, and I just don't believe it.

Sorry, Triangle Town Center Target in Raleigh.
There were zero joycons of any type. They had the charging grip thing and a couple of cases. It was pretty barren.
What's been a reliable place to get a Pro Controller lately? I want one before I really play anything.
Pretty accurate, that's how i found my switch. Just make sure to call first though.

Saves are only on the system and there's currently no way to transfer them.

How accurate is istocknow? Because unless I'm misreading, there are plenty available all over Los Angeles. It claims the Target up the street from me has nine available (5 gray, 4 red/blue) for instance.
edit- did an exact count, and istocknow says there's 11 stores with them in stock within a ~45 minute drive from me. Also checked my hometown (in WV) and there are three at my local Target there. Is it safe to say the stock situation is starting to level out? Good timing for Nintendo if so, I imagine Splatoon 2 will dry up the stock again for a couple weeks when it comes out.

Since resupply is happening this week all over the place, probably fairly accurate. Be sure to call ahead, though, as it may be dated at some point or another.

lot of walmarts in Ohio seemed to get some stock in today. Finally got mine from one in southern ohio after checking istocknow.

Outside of my brother's launch system he preordered, I did not see a Wii out in the wild for what seemed like a year. I want to say Best Buy and toys r us had people lining up early every Sunday in the hopes of getting a Wii for months.

Quoting myself because success! Lol, I got to the NWS at 9'ish am, about 20 people were lined up already. They sold about 50 switches in an hour. The store tho, what a disappointment, gamestop had more/better Nintendo goodies :/

I'm mostly fine with it as long as I get mostly what I want. If it's with things like an extra controller of screen protector, or Zelda that's fine.

And I would have to pay total 345 euros. I told myself not to pay more than 330 euros for a Switch. I think I will wait, or not,... Depending how I feel by the end of the day, haha.

Wii was impossible to find for at least a year post launch and went for $600+ on eBay. People are at least finding Switches and its "only" $380+ on eBay.

Finally managed to grab a Switch thanks to GAF.
After reading a few posters on here mention Targets had been receiving systems this week I decided to check istocknow this morning and it showed that my local Target received a few.
I decided to head over there and the shelf was empty, asked an employee if they had any switch systems in stock and he said they havent had a chance to check the truck an told me to wait a few minutes. About 10 minutes later he came back with a few switch systems in a cart and I picked up a Grey console with Zelda and MK8.
On a sidenote: I found it interesting that the website updated with the system being in stock despite the employee not knowing if they received any and having to check the truck/ go in the back for one.

So what's the consensus on Switch's availability in stores like Walmart, Best Buy and Target? Planning on going out tomorrow to hopefully find one!!! I'm in the US, Austin TX area

Best Buy got a ton in across the nation on Sunday, but they're most likely all gone by now. Target got a bunch of stock on Monday/Tuesday. You've got a chance at finding one at Best Buy or Target tomorrow, but probably not a great chance.

I've been keeping an eye out for friends and I've been noticing that Walmarts seem to restock on the weekend starting with Friday. My area anyway. Target could have some tomorrow too

There doesn't seem to be a general switch thread right? I'm trying to set my up my switch and after asking me to link a Nintendo account it's just been sitting at the "preparing" screen for the last 10 minutes. Is this a known issue or am I doing something wrong?
Edit- Restarted the system and the setup went through, although I haven't linked my account yet. Will try it later after I get this protection screen on there.

They're available in Scandinavia. I just ordered one. The first fucking Nintendo console I'll own since the mid 90's! Then PlayStation happened, but now I'm back, lol!

Probably my best bet is to keep an eye on Wario64s Twitter feed.

You could find Wii system is 2007. Here are the sales figures for that year. Nintendo had much more stock available than they've had for Switch. Wii had already experienced its first holiday season (it launched the previous November), so the mainstream consumer was far more aware of its existence. So, it was a bit tougher to find than the Switch is, but not by much. Stores received shipments regularly.

I just got one from a Target this morning. I asked the electronics guy yesterday about shipments and he was able to see when they were scheduled to get them.

In the exact same boat.
The lady at GameStop put me on a call list for when they have them in stock but I'm not going to put too much trust in that.
Why not just buy the hardware where available then use the credit for games/eShop credit?
Pittsburgh GAF here, managed to find a Switch at a Walmart in Steubenville, Ohio some 40 miles away. I didn't come out specifically for the Switch, I was hiking nearby and afterwards I figured I'd stop into town and try my luck since I had heard they're easier to find in small podunk towns. Apparently they got 2 in this morning and I got the second one early in the afternoon. Can't wait to play some Zeld!
