So how bad is the Switch stock situation?

I make a point to stop at their store in Johnson City, TN every time I visit family in the area. Good place, they're legit.

Yep, they are awesome! Friendly service, fair prices, and great places to browse. Never thought I would see them mentioned here though. They have got a good number of my business over the years.

I loved them as well, and just think it is sad that they have switched for weeks and GAF has not ordered all of them. :)

How reliable is this? A lot of money to risk buying from somewhere so far when I'm in Texas

I've spent hundreds of dollars with them in the past. :)

Is there any website I can check for stock based on my location? I'm staying in the US for a week and would love to get one of these while I'm here.

I have had success with brickseek and istocknow.com.

I managed to get one yesterday. It showed up as in stock on the 2 above sites on Friday. I called walmart on Friday. The employee said they did not have stock. I then went the next day (not trusting the employee). I saw 6 Switches in the glass case. I asked an employee if they had any in stock (I was not sure if they were display boxes). They said no. I asked them if the boxes in the display case were just display boxes. They then went over and realized that they actually had them in stock.

I guess the point of the story is that you probably have to visit the stores instead of relying on phone calls/websites, but the websites are a good tool to narrow down which stores to visit.

This is a pretty great little indie chain that's open in Southwest Virginia/Northeast TN -- they've got quite a few basic and Neon consoles in stock right now. Shipping's not free but the prices look pretty good.

Just ordered a Switch from that store. How fast and reliable are their shipping? I'm in Florida currently, it said "2 business days", should that be accurate?

I was really hoping the story ended with the employee still insisting that they didn't have them in stock, even as you bought it. Lol

Is it not possible to order one on Amazon from them directly even though it's out of stock and then whenever it's back in stock they'll just bill me and ship it?
I'm scrolling through the list of available sellers on the website for both the gray & neon units but don't see Amazon as a direct seller listed.

That would piss me off so much lol.....like seriously, just go look in the damn case and see that they were actual units! Lazy ass Walmart people

One thing for me is that in my area it probably is easier to find. Within 30-40 minutes of me there are 3 Bestbuys, 5 Targets, 3 Toys R Us, 6-7 Gamestops, & 1 Frys. Expand that to an hour and those numbers go up a bit. I'm sure most aren't that fortunate.

In retribution for the suggestion, I have two $5 off coupons to give in case anyone wants to get a Switch with them. Quote this post and I'll send a code each for the first two.

I live in Texas and ordered from them last week after seeing the recommendations. Got it within a couple of days. Everything went smoothly, but it's the only time I've ordered from them so YMMV.

Just got my Switch from this store, everything worked out perfectly. I can definitely recommend getting a Switch with them.

I don't think that many Walmart employees are very ambitious in their job, or should be in the light of the working conditions there. There is a reason why Walmarts expansion plans in europe turned out to be a disaster when they got confronted with employee rights there.

In Northern Virginia, I haven't seen a single Switch on a store shelf since launch. Today, I saw three of them on display at a Best Buy (all grey joycons), and an employee mentioned they had 30 in stock. Later in the day I was at a Target and saw 2 on display (1 grey, 1 neon). Incredible seeing so many after never having seen any before.

If you're in NoVa and are looking for one, shoot me a PM and I'll let you know which specific stores I was at.

I'm in Omaha, NE and have the same story. I've never seen one on the shelf, but saw a few at Best Buy on Tuesday. Just sitting there. It was magical!!!

Well, I saw my third Switch in my local Walmart today (small town), so I decided to take the plunge and either 1. be a heartless scalper 2. resell it at cost to someone who actually wants it. Undecided on that so far. xD

Nova here as well. I got a switch on Splatoon 2 launch. The distribution of Switch's was bizarre. I had to go to about 5 different stores before a game stop employee helped me find one at another store 20 minutes away. However, there were stores and locations 15 minutes away from me that hadn't received any in months while others had 10-15 in stock that were 45 minutes away from me.

Saw like 10 on the shelves here locally, 7 of which had been there since Monday.

I should scalp them to pay for me one, but I'm afraid the scalping days are over?

Good luck on either. Selling it at cost or slightly above cost can be time consuming for sure. Might get lucky to sell it for little profit.

I payed GameStop last month for one and they where supposed to get them on the first and now I don't know when they might get new ones. Should I try to cancel?

I haven’t seen one of these in the wild in SoCal since I got mine at launch (my line of work takes me to 3-4 different big box retail stores every day and I always check electronics for Nintendo Switch stock and have yet to see a single one in the wild), but I just went to a Walmart that had a Neon sitting in the glass case and a Toys R Us in the same parking lot that had 6 Grays and 4 Neons just sitting there. Seems like they’ve had a sign out front all day that says they’re in stock, too. This is in Porter Ranch in case anyone nearby wants to pick one up.

Well, if you happen to be nearby Inverness, Florida their Walmart had 3x Switches in stock. That said, nobody is probably nearby.

So from browsing this thread and the recent sales figures in Japan, is it safe to say shipments have increased, right around when Nintendo said they would?
