Savant
I was looking for some junker to beat on, but hell froze over and I ended up buying new.

Guess what I bought, dudes.

No really, guess. I'll see if I can find a camera for pictures.

I'll give out the first three indirect hints people ask for.

I don't understand threads like this. Is it gloating? Is it a cry for validation? Are you going to give me a ride? Let me take a spin? No? Then, why should I care? I'm sorry, barf, I just don't understand the compulsion to announce to GA the kind of car you've bought. It's juvenile, don't you think?

If it were any other poster than fart, I'd agree that this was an appeal for attention. Somehow, though, I suspect this story has a surreal ending.

positive on the coupe

feel free to ignore the thread futami. sorry if it seems like gloating, i just thought it would be kind of cool to play a guessing game. i'm highly ashamed of my purchase by the way.

drinky is right. there is a high degree of absurdity in the story.

the civic is heading in the right direction... to some degree.

I'm seeing a correlation between the holidays and stress-related asshole-isms.

RSX or TSX.

if you've been stalking me (or you're me) you know i've been looking for an s14 (95-98 nissan 240sx) for a while now, so unfortunately the fact that i'm highly ashamed should lead one to believe that i bought nothing like that. in short, not a nissan (iirc the sr20 only comes in used cars at this point in the US, and nissan's only RWD offerings are out of my price range nowadays). infiniti is out of the running just on price.

you're hot like monica belluci under that waterfall.

Well, you just said no Infiniti because of the price. So I doubt you got a TL and the RL is way too much. Unless, you did get a base TL? It's definitely an Acura, though right? :\

if not rsx, then the mini-mini van, civic si?

tall and bulky unlike sleek and smooth s14...

He ruled out the Civics. It's definitely an Acura.

if RSX Type S, nothing to be ashamed about.

Hahaha, this should be interesting. It's been about a year since I first drove a stick; my buddy's 5spd 2002 Eclipse -- not a car to be learning on, I know. Semi-long and funny story.

yep, she's hot.

my friend was getting rid of a late 80s tercel about a month ago too. didn't get back in time to thrash on his clutch. now that's a car for learning stick on.

It's a beautiful car man, congrats! What does it mean "drive a stick" btw?

edit: Got it from AlphaSnake's post. Damn where I live automatic doesn't even exist. You'll get used to it and you'll eventually like it. Well except when you're in traffic which is kinda annoying.

You live in an area with traffic lights located on hills? 'Cause if you do, the fact that you're new to a manual isn't a good thing. Avoid hilly areas during rush hour times. Go out at night and practice getting into gear quick enough on a hill so that you don't roll back too much. That's really the only reason I don't want a stick...well, that and traffic in NYC is hell.

the TL is pretty sweet. they were finalizing deals on two while i was in the showroom.

oh man, and the new honda independent awd system is going to be fucking insane.

i'm in san francisco right now, alpha. ebrake = friend

stick <-> n-speed manual/standard transmission with a foot operated clutch

I'd so get an RL, but leasing those things and insurance on them = too rich for my blood.

I remember that when I needed to learn how to drive stick, there was a thread in GAF by Ferrio about such a topic, and you sent him to "howthingswork.com" as advice. That advice worked well for me. I hope you practice what you preach. :)

Yikes, SF. I've been driving my RSX since 2002 and I still hate driving in SF. Thank goodness I can take a train to work up there.

oh shit, you can get suparu handurinu on 05 RLs???? fuck i should have driven one of those.

interesting that they seem to use the same tiptronic auto for the RL though.

badabing: yah, it only took me a couple hours to pick it up, thanks to knowing the mechanics. i'm glad the site worked well for you too. i'm a pretty big believer in understanding the mechanics of things.

the dark gray silver color. i was going for black, but fuck i don't want to be detailing the car every week.

i'll try to find a camera when i get home.
