Also, are there any waterproof covers for the iPod? I'm going on a cruise and I want to take it with me.

Those are Lajo. However the offer more prtoection than the iSkin (covers the scrollwheel and more durable material). Aren't those washable anyway?

A little pricey, but after I dropped my iPod in Chicago and needed to take it to an Apple Store for repair (which they didn't charge me for, I still appreciate that), I didn't want to spare any expense.

It's only for 3Gs, and it cost me a cool $25 (I don't know where IPL found it for $15.) For a mostly cloth case with reinforced flaps and sides, I thought that was kinda steep.

Why cuz Wilco hates the Shuffle? i don't see the issue at all. As much as i defended (with weak praise) the shuffle, I would never buy one, and I love my iPod.

Eh, those leave the bottom corners unprotected, probably the most scratch-prone part of any machine. And the other covers look really, really thick and not as good as those dumb Lajo, Speck, iSkin, etc. covers!

PLus the attachment on the back of the Java cases are crap for working out, those cell phone type attachments are really garbage.

Ignatz Mouse recomended an iSkin last week in a thread and I'm going for it, it keeps the style in tact without hiding it, and can be used easily in the iDock.

I've had mine for about 3 months and have washed it once. It's the off-white one that glows blue. It's about time for another wash, I'll admit.

I'm tempted to get another, a black one, and wash it even less often. But another $30 bucks. Argh.

I have a black iSkin and I can agree with the post that they do seem to be a dust magnet. I suppose a lighter color wouldn't show the dust as much, but then it might actually get dirty and show.

One other thing about the iSkin. The included belt clip will MELD itself to the back of your iPod if you don't remove it from the skin. Why they would let such a stupid design flaw through is beyond me. Once the plastic clip attaches itself to the iPod, it can be a real mess to get them apart. I removed the clip before I even put the skin on my iPod.

I use Pocket. It came with my pants. All I do is slip it in the Pocket, and it's protected from most of the elements, save for intense burning fire. If my pants catch on fire, that is.

I use the one that bestbuy sold, and i guess they had it at the apple store too.

Its a clear rubber one, that used to be pretty tight on it, but after taking it out a bunch, it is a little loose now. The only downside, no screen protection. so i've got a little nick on the screen. but as for the protection, it works wonders. i bought it with my employee discount, i think it was like 25-30 for normal people, i got it for 8. it worked (works) for me.

Since you're always hatin' on the iPod, I'm kinda interested in your impressions. Personally, I love my 3g to death, haven't had any problems with it. And I have one of those sock things to protect it, I hate cases.

I haven't had my iSkin long enough to know if it's going to get furry. But I got the Blue one, which doesn't seem to show dirt or dust so far.

I also ditched the clip.

I friend of mine has a decal/label type thingy that he printed and put on his. I liked it becuase it seemed that it would protect the surface without adding to the size. Unfortunately, it didn;t cover the whole thing. Anybody try that? Addedd bonus that he could print on it whatever graphics he desired.
