So... I re-bought the DS

God your a dumbass if your going to determine buying a handheld or not if it outsells the competition. What the hell kind of logic is that?

And the system that "hasn't been selling that well" is still ahead of the PSP in America, Japan, and Europe. And either GAF was too quick to jump on the DS getting destroyed in Europe by the PSP or a shortage has happened (which I don't get how since they delayed it by 8 months for Europe) because the first week in the UK the PSP sold 185,000 but in the following 3 weeks its just managed 65,000. The UK is the biggest market in Europe BTW.

There was really no need for the name calling. My reasons are my reasons. I don't know why you care so much what I think.

The bottom line is that I don't really need 3 handheld systems (especially when you consider the PSP can also play NES, SNES, Genesis, NeoGeoCD, etc games). I also have a GBASP. So if I'm going to shell out more money for another handheld system I am going to make damn sure that it is truly viable. DS is the market leader now but so was the Gamecube compared to the Xbox for the first couple of years. Once it was clear that the Xbox would take the lead 3rd parties dropped the Gamecube like a bad habbit. I want to make sure that won't happen to the DS before I buy one and the only way I will start to feel comfortable about the situation is if Nintendo can start to turn things around in the US and Europe.

Oh, and 65,000 units in 3 weeks (roughly 85,000 units a month) in one country in Europe is nothing to sneeze at. The monthly sales of the DS in America haven't been much better than that.

Bandwagon Chaser =[

I bet when football teams win the superbowl he drops all his fangear stuff from the previous year and buys the new champs stuff and does it again the next year

Wanting to make absolutely sure that the 3rd handheld system that I buy in as many years is viable before I purchase it hardly qualifies me as a bandwagon chaser. I probably own more games and more systems than 80-90% of the people on this forum and that's saying something. Way to talk shit about someone you don't even know.

Wait wait so your defense is "I own more games then you" and "PSP is more viable then the DS" when both are completly viable? What? Oh and the unforgetful "You dont know me! Im telling!"

I just wanted to come in here and say some choice words about the current argument.

"Pi is an irrational number. Why is it irrational? Because you can't write it down in a finite form.
.3_ is a rational number. Why is it rational? Because you can write it down in a finite form.
.6_ is a rational number as well.
So is .9_"

I read this somewhere.

0.3_ = 1/3 - finite
0.6_ = 2/3 - finite
0.9_ = infinitessimally less than 1, not finite. You cannot write it as a finite ratio, therefore it's not rational.

IIRC.

I have both DS AND PSP. I win on both fronts. Game over.

Ah yes, nothing better than that. Still the only problem is making sure which one I should bring when I go somewhere, carrying both is a big hassle :P

You pick days. It also depends on where you are going and what you plan on doing. If i'm travelling for awhile I take both. For work I take the PSP then depending on my mood I watch an episode of anime, a tv show I missed or a quick game on lunch. On weekends if i'm out and about I usually have my DS with me because the screen is better for out in the daylight (not by too much but at least a little shade helps). I go to some conventions (yes, anime for one) and I seem to find more people during the day hours walking around to play multiplayer games with the DS(Meteos is real good) and I switch to the PSP at night to wind down and watch some anime or for single player Lumines or Hot Shots.

I just don't know how some people can just outright hate either one of them. Certainly wouldn't sell either of them either this short into lifespan.

And your defense for being called out on your shitty behavior is just to repeat back everything I said and insert commentary? So basically you have no defense? Thats good. Because if you actually tried to defend it you'd look even dumber than you do right now. Do us all a favor and go back to Gamestop, or EB, or wherever the f--- you work and play your DS. And the next time you get the urge to start throwing around accusations about someone you don't even know because they say something that you don't agree with keep your mouth shut.

You know, its Nintendo fans like you that give Nintendo fans a bad name. I didn't say one bad thing about the DS. All that I did was express some reservations that I had about the system and you and NWO were ready to jump down my throat. Congratulations. You've taken the act of defending the hive to a whole new level.

You sir are a moron. Where exactly did I say Sony is the utter shits of shitsville... I personally enjoy my PSP alot, and look forward to the future RPG's (if only a few) to come as well as some of the PS2 type games that I really want to take in my handheld.

I cant exactly play games in Gamestop Corporate either =[ Sorry..

But Ill hit you up the next time I need to see a 13 year old run into a hissy fit.. Thanks.

Where exactly did I accuse you of saying that Sony was the utter shits of shitsville? Or have you now resorted to making stuff up just so that you can squeeze in a few more insults? You know what? If you want to respond lets take this to PM. I'm done talking to you here.

And to everyone else, particularly the original poster, I'm sorry things got this bad. When I posted my oriignal remarks I did not think they would lead to insults and an argument. My sincere apologies.

I haven't played handheld games as much as I am now since pre-Pokemon days. It's mostly DS stuff, too (DS, plus some GBA titles earlier in the year). Only one I've been underwhelmed or disappointed with so far was Kirby Canvas Curse. Though incredibly frustrating, I found Lost in Blue to be worth it. A small, pleasant surprise.

Currently playing Trauma Center, but can't wait to unwrap and have a go at Dawn of Sorrow (my first handheld Castlevania).

There's still Phoenix Wright, Animal Crossing (ONLINE, FOR FREE!), Mario Kart DS (ONLINE, FOR FREE!), Sonic Rush, Gunstar Super Heroes, and Final Fantasy IV I'm looking forward to this year. Insanity I tells ya.

Though I guess that's about par for the course. The rest of this year really is looking pretty damn insane. :)
