So, in Mortal Kombat: Deception for the GameCube...

I remember seeing some vids when the game came out, and I remember being dissapointed. Goro's kept involving his puny little weapons instead of his four arms. Wasted potential.

I remember always thinking Goro should have one where he picks them up in front of him by all four of their limbs and pulls them all off at the same time. That'd be perfect.

Shao Kahn, I never really put much thought into.

For one of Shao Khan's, he hammers the other guy into the ground. Then golf-swings his head off.

Goro's like "hey I'll hold you up and stab you with sais, hahaha!"

Been meaning to pick up a copy of the game (liked the direction they started going in with Deadly Alliance), are Goro and Shao Khan amusing to play as, or should I just be looking at an Xbox or PS2 version instead? (Xbox probably.) Online play is a non-factor right now for me, but if other aspects suffered because of compression to get things onto the GCN disc...

Lol that's exactly what a friend of mine in school said he wanted them to have Goro do.

Goro picks them up and rips them apart in one. In the other he takes out sais and stabs them.

Kahn hammers them in the ground and then knocks their head off. His other has him tossing them into the air and hitting them on the way down, blowing them up.

All 4 fatals are pretty lame. Both characters are mostly lame in general. They're not all that fun to play as because they're so slow and plodding. MKD's gameplay is stiff and sluggish to begin with, they just make it worse. They're not even entirely original, most of their animation is recycled from other characters in MKD and MKDA. It's just the usual weak extras they slapped in after working on them for like 20 minutes. They don't even fit in the game like the others, you never fight them in arcade mode and they don't appear as regular characters in Konquest. You can tell they were put in with very little time or effort.

Shit I forgot about that one. That one is STRAIGHT out of WarGods, I'm telling you. That rock guy, Tak or something, that was his fatality.

Yeah, but both Sheeva and Kahn himself have done versions of that before Wargods came out.

Didn't he do this in one of the earlier games already? Seems like such a no-brainer, I know.

MKD GC is the first game where Goro had his own fatals.

in MKT Kahn knocked them into the ground then hit them in the head, making them blow up. Basically the same idea, but with the MK3 logic of everyone blowing up all the time.

Oh I have the N64 Trilogy so I don't think that fatality is in there. If it is I forgot about it.

I love fatalities, I used to make them up as a kid. I have a book literally filled of my own characters and each one of them had like 8 fatalities each, all different ideas. Funny thing is that MKD actually did one of my fatalities. Sub-Zero's one where he freezes your legs and shatters them, I made that one up in 95!

It is, in fact N64 is the only version with it. Motaro also has one where he rips off their head. The animation is just ripped from his win pose though so it looks retarded.

I think UMK3 is the best in the series. I rank them MK3 > MK II > MK > MK 4 > MKDA > MKD

I'd love to see a redone MKT will ALL the backgrounds (too many missing from the original version) and character sprites ripped from the arcade versions, finished fatals (including a finished Classic Subby head-rip, none of that fade to black shit), finished Animalities, high quality audio and a complete Pit II.

hell yeah, that would be great, i'd buy it for sure. MKT was the pinnacle... lots of characters had tons of crazy BS stuff, which usually makes a game fun

It isn't possible to do that. It's not like that data is just sitting somewhere ready to be added in. Moves like Pit II and Kung Lao's hat slice require specific digitized animation that just doesn't exist. There is no footage of Sal Divita in the Nightwolf costume falling down so they'd have to have a completely new actor play Nightwolf or somehow get Sal to look just like he did 10 years ago. Most of the roster would have to be recast and redone from scratch. MKT is pretty much as complete as it can get without creating a whole new game.
