I don't know looks fun, mortal kombat ran the fighting genre for decades. They have to figure out a good mortal kombat, these are classic characters.

I think it's insane how Johnny Cage went from being almost the Yamcha of the franchise to now being one of the characters they like to play with being portrayed as the main character. He was killed off early in the 2nd movie, he was the main character they decided to axe to add tension, around that time he wasn't in vanilla MK3 (to be fair, neither was Scorpion) and then it seemed like for a while he was included in the games but lacked prominence. Then a shift back to focusing on him and doubling down on the lore that there is a special power inside of him. Now it looks like he might be the main character of this movie.

I don't mind it. JC is my fav MK character.

Casting in the miniseries MK Legacy was better and just better in general it was mature and grounded rather than a comedy with shit nobody actor's.... Michael Jai White was perfect as Jax, Mark Dacascos as Kung Lao again was perfect and the dude who played Kenshi was brilliant, Ian Antony Dale as Scorpion was good too.

Karl Urban should have been Kano and they should have brought MJW and Dacascos back too, Just them 3 castings alone would make this vastly more appealing, Cage should have been played by Scott Adkins you know an actual martial artist, Ashame Van Damme is 64 now even JCVD as Cage would have been better than Karl Urban ffs he just doesn't suit that role at all
