This looks fucking terrible!

Seeing people in here actually think this braindead garbage looks "fun" simply shows how low the standards have gotten!

Is this a reboot of the reboot? Some of the characters were killed off in the 2021 movie and now they're back. I guess they'll just make up some lame excuses to bring them back, like the revenants in the games.
 
Can someone explain the chronology of Mortal Kombat movies to me? I only remember the original Mortal Kombat movie from 1995, and the sequel (Annihilation) from 1997. Somehow I totally missed, that another Mortal Kombat movie released in 2021, and now this one. Are those 2 recent movies from 2021 and 2025 connected to the original movies from 1995 and 1997? Are they sequels or reboots?

Reboots and not related to the OGs at all.

In the reboot, an earthworld champion can be killed and therefore transferring their status (MK symbol) to the person that killed them. In the OG, Raiden chose the Earthrealm champions.
Other than Cole, the main protagonist, who has the MK mark from birth and inherited from his ancestors.
The overall requirements for conquering Earthrealm are the same in both and follows the lore of the original game.

I understand that the actress playing Jade wants to be bald irl, but they could have wigged it.

The trailer was just a confirmation to skip the theatrical release and maybe watch the streaming version 'for free' to make fun of it.

It's a Mortal Kombat movie, man. They've been campy and brain dead since the first one. And people like them for it.

Every time I see her she's either bald or has a disgusting septum piercing.

I also can't stand the perpetual smugness she exudes.

True. I always forget that they are not necessarily the same character, but for some reason, I always think they are.
 
Its alright I guess, glad Cole is on the backburner. But man did they really need to put in that Intergalactic chick in this with her bald head? I mean put a damn wig on, Jade was never bald why make such stupid change.

This is a Mortal Kombat with Cole and bald Jade, anything is possible.

Looking at the promotional images they say Bi Han (Noob) for silver armour man so it might be a combined character if they haven't shown us a roster fatality in the trailer

Florence Paug, or whatever her name is, is another one that goes from ridiculous hottie to an ugly boot when she fucks up her hair and puts her septum piercing in.

Sounds like you just don't like the punk rock hair/septum piercing look, which is fair. Everyone has different tastes. I always thought Florence looked best while playing as Yelena.

I thought the previous film was pretty bad, but I streamed it cause it was "free" on Max/HBO when it launched. The best parts IMO were everything Subzero and Scorpion, everything else was just... not good.

For as campy as the first movie was, I think it still nailed it better than any of the other films. I'm sure this one will be no different. I still thought it was funny that the first movie didn't even bring the tournament in, and the entire game series starts with the tournament. Then they added that unnecessary new and boring character Cole, lol.

They had the greatest song ever used in a motion picture to be inspired by and that was all they could come up with? Pfft. But nah, I really liked the last one. I'll check this out once it's available online.

 
I hope they improved the fight choreography... because it was unbelievably bad in the first one.

This looks awesome except bald Jade….that burns my soul, just why? I don't mind the actress in general but what's with her lately having to be fucking bald?? It's 2025, wear a wig ffs.
 
This looks way better than MK 2021.... But MK 2021 was a complete hot doodoo garbage dumpster fire, so it isn't hard to make it better.

Fucking Jade actress pick, wtf is that?!? They always find a way to fuck some shit up.
 
Looks fun honestly. I'd watch it on streaming sometime. More than I can say for most of these movies. Karl Urban is always entertaining.
