So now that all consoles and handhelds have mic input, why no Odama or Seaman?

So, the handhelds have built in mics. WiiU has a built in mic (I think). XBONE and PS4 both have standard headsets that have mics...

And yet we get no games that use the mics in fun ways.

I know that Tomb Raider has voice control.

But why no ports/sequels to games that were so cool that pubs were willing to PACK IN A FREAKING MIC BEFORE IT WAS STANDARD!!!!!

I mean, I know these games weren't sales juggernauts, but I mean, I don't even need THOSE games, I just want games that use it in interesting ways.

Are there console games that do this and I have just been missing them? (Everyone who just posts "Because they sold like shit" obviously didn't read the op and is a bad gaffer)

If nothing else, why is there no port or remake or sequel to Hey You Pikachu?

Nintendo already had Nintendogs and they already included the mic. A Hey You Pikachu on the DS (or 3DS) makes perfect sense.

Ahahaha seaman ,
That Japanese face guy fish creature was ridiculousness ....LOL
I rather talk to siri about fish all day :)
But ahaha, alright but TBH, I rather see Sega release a 99 cents app of seaman.

ahahaha

Was it Leonard Nimoy? Or he was just the narrator?

I also think the gimmick is less interesting like this. Voice control isn't the game-selling technology that it used to be. Having that mic peripheral just made it so appealing. Especially with Hey You Pickachu and Seaman.

I wouldn't mind having a cool experimental game like Odama again though.

Oh man, Tomb Raider and its voice controls were hilariously dumb.

Say 'FIRE' while aiming your bow and Lara will equip her fire arrows."

Huh, that's kinda cool. Let's try it out.

Aims bow
Fire!
...Fire!
...fire?
*ahem*
...fiyuruh
...fi-yahr
...Figh-yure

...............Fire arrows equipped

Or, you can just push up again on the d-pad to equip your fire arrows.

All of Tomb Raider's voice controls were either pointless or far less efficient than just using your controller. Here's hoping other games use it properly.

Y'know, it really is a shame even something like Mario Party doesn't really use it like they did for the GameCube for a bit. Or something like WarioWare using the gyro, unlike the weird implementations they've done in Mario Kart and Star Fox and Luigi's Mansion. More dedicated effort rather than cursory, side-thing.

We were getting a new Seaman on 3DS but there was a falling out between Saito and Nintendo.
According to Saito himself he was the one who "failed" Iwata who was pushing hard for a new Seaman. He talk about that in his text in memory of Iwata, published last year. It's a sad reading. The guy is/was a bit depressed.
