So Say We All: Battlestar Galactica Season 1: HD-DVD gets a date.

It's about effin time.

Battlestar Galactica will see its first season get a release on HDDVD on December 4th, with an MSRP of $100.

Details below:

The 6-DVD set will be priced at about $100. The discs will be single-sided "HD-30's" with widescreen video, both Dolby HD Surround and Digital Plus 5.1, and subtitles in both English and French (how do you translate 'frak' into French? Fraque?). The set will have all of the original DVD extras as well as those specific to the HD release.

Do what most people did: Get the add on for your 360. Of course, if you don't have a 360, you are SOL (gaming wise too). :lol

I'm getting a 360 for my b-day (October 31st), but Blu-Ray has some exclusives that I really want.

Are you guys really that unsatisfied by DVDs? I was really impressed by how great they looked after recently Netflixing them.

Now, the actual contents of Seasons 2.5 - 3 are another, sadder story.

Have you seen Galactica on Universal HD?

WOW. There really is a noticeable difference between the DVDs and the HD feed on Universal HD.

How good is the add on in terms of quality? Is it one of the best or worst hd-dvd players out there?

Even with the miniseries, holy hell, that's expensive.

Yup, I did this today when Best Buy had their "buy the add-on get 300 HD-DVD free" deal.

Good lord, I didn't even realize what I was missing.

It's worse than when Han said "Then I'll see you in Hell!" in ESB. :lol At least Hell is a fairly generic religious term / concept. That one's a bit more specific, and would have to be unique to our world.

For fairness, you'd have to have McCain vs. Tigh and pull in Malcolm Reynolds against Solo.

Then it could be a grizzled ex P.O.W. soldier fight and a smuggler captain fight.

I've got a ton of time on my hands before school starts so I've been rewatching series. I was planning on spreading it out so I'd be ready for the 4th season but I've already blown through to S3EP5 :(

Anyway, FRACK 100 bucks for Season 1. I was going to wait for the inevitable HDDVD/BR releases to do my part in paying for the show, but I'll wait until I can get the complete box set...hopefully for less than a grand

After all, Nathan Fillion does do a better Han Solo than Harrison Ford.

I still wish he would have been cast as Indy in the new movie- Nate Fillion as Indiana Jones would rokk so hard.

Since I haven't seen a single episode, I'll probably pick this up. It's obviously the definitive version up to this point, and I've heard enough praise that it's time to finally get on board.

So somebody explain me what's the point of every episode beginning with a spoiler reel of stuff from the upcoming episode? In case people get bored they still have an idea what was supposed to happen?
