Dammit, is it confirmed that next MGS game will have user controllable camera? I'd hate for this game to become another Max Payne, Splinter Cell or whathaveyou when it comes to camera control. I can't be the only one who doesn't like that camera method - it makes everything look and feel so unnatural somehow. If anything, I hope they somehow keep the cinematicness of the gameplay, maybe using the semi-automatic camera like it's used in some platformers (J&D, etc...)

I agree. A camera like that somehow makes all movement seem more jerky and artificial, not to mention that it makes it much to easy to "cheat" and look around corners in tight spaces, etc.

It does mean we can throw away the radar altogether though, people are way too dependent on that. With no radar, looking around corners would be alright tradeoff. Although the radar in MGS3 would be alright since it's the barebones type.

So where's that MGS4 blowout that Famitsu was going to have in their new issue? All we've got is Monolith and PSP games so far. Did Kojima snub them?

I sorta feel the same way. I loved the camera in MGS2 and MGS3, the cinematic angle is perfect for the game, but at the same time, I can see the advantages of having a camera like the one in splinter cell. Im a fan of both games and I could honestly see the 3d camera angle like the one in SC work very well in MGS3 and the next MGS game, but at the same time I hope Konami give us the option to choose between the two different camera angles in MGS4. they are doing that with MGS3:S so it would come as a bit of a surprise if they didnt do that with MGS4

I actually want the first spooge of juice to come from TGS itself- not a magazine right before... but maybe that's just me? :D

So if TGS starts in Japan Thursday morning (?), does that mean we should start getting goodies tomorrow evening? I suck at world times...

:lol Being able to look in front of you is cheating? Goddamn I guess I've been cheating very second of my muthafucking life.

I wouldn't mind some details leaking out, but yah i'd prefer to first see it in trailer form and not in some scans.

Most people only care about MGS an not much else it seems, but Im pretty hyped up for everything. PSP seems to have a great showing too, DMC will be there along with some other capcom games. There will be other stuff there too that will kick all sorts of ass, but like most people, MGS has got me most exited although there are two things that could change that:

1) PES announced for any next gen console
2) ZOE3

The show starts Friday morning in Japan, so still a bit to wait.

Blim'sBlim....will you be carrying a laptop or PDA of some sort and reporting directly from the show? I'm gonna be working graveyard Thursday night/Friday morning and will be up all night here is Los Angeles which is gonna be morning time there in Japan, and I just wanna know when we can expect the first initial impressions for Ridge Racer 6. :)

Johnny, take a pic of Silent Hill 5 for me. :)

It must have Robbie in it, that's not SH's mascot.

Fami info started appearing, there's interview with Kojima on MGS4 (Snake will be elderly person..), preview on DMC4...I guess someone else will open new topic about it :P

That age acceleration must've really kicked in. MGS4 can't take place too much longer after MGS2 given that Raiden's kid looks very young. I think it'll be a little over a year after MGS2.

Anything about DMC3 Special Edition?

Plus with the shitstorm that occured in the final parts of MGS2, I doubt the involved people would just lay low for a while. "Oh, there's a split-personality freak on the loose with a top-secret piece of military equipment in his hands, a huge secret weapon has crash landed into Manhattan, our terrorist ex-president/exo-skeleton ninja lies dead at the steps of city hall and our president is at the bottom of the Hudson River? I think we'll have to sit and ponder this turn of events for a while."

War's-a-coming. :D

:lol It must be and it makes sense really. Kojima mentioned that it will be in a warzone setting and after what happened in MGS2, something is going to happen, probably some kind of war :D

Yeah I'll have my laptop with me so I can post impressions and videos right from the press room.

geriatric snake :o instead of hunting for food as in mgs3, i bet he has to remember to take his pills, or he starts forgetting where he put things, coughing, telling long and pointless stories, etc.

dmc3 SE get. if virgil's moveset is anywhere near as deep as dante's -- man, what if he has multiple styles? -- it'll be more than worth it. virgil is so fucking cool. cutscene viewer would be nice too.

Oh shit...I didn't remember MK-2...ah...Snatcher...what a great game !

All this DMC 4 talk makes me wonder how the game will be. The teaser showed Dante in what seemed to me a mountain while it was snowing...This doesn't say much. We also know that the game will happen in a time previous to DMC1 and probably after DMC3...even though it could be before DMC3 but I doubt it.
I know most of you don't give a crap about story but well...;) I want good gameplay yes, but a nice story with some twists like DMC3's one would be great.
And I would love DMC4 to return to DMC1's artstyle...More gothic.

Well, there's a massive fortress in front of him with a series of ruins leading into it, so I think you'll get your wish.

Personally I'd have preferred them to stay with the urban/mythological mix they have going on in the intros of DMC1 and DMC3 - something more interesting than Sprawling Gothic Castle In A Japanese Action Title #38388394872, but the DMC2 backlash probably means they'll never go there again.

If there's fighting in the snow, though, I'll be happy.

It seems DMC2 caused them to not want to make any more games
that happen after DMC1's story. :D

In the meantime we get to play in the expanded past while they think of something
proper for our heroes' futures.

DMC5 might be of Sparda vs the underworld if it keeps on going like this. ^^;
