So where's Gaborn? (RIP Gaborn)

He was one of my biggest fans. I always liked to make him laugh, particularly in his own threads.

I was very drunk and tearful last night. Just can't believe he is gone.

He's also the one that posted adorable, at times weird, at other times hilarious stories.

Just wanted to add some emphasis to this. Gaborn was not really crazy about his reputation as "bad news guy," and if you take the time to see the threads he created you'll see it wasn't really fair given the diverse array of topics he shared with us. I hope people will remember him for the things I think he would want to be remembered for: his passionate advocacy for LGBT rights, his outspoken Libertarian views, his crazy animal threads and so much more. Not as the "bad news guy."

I am really going to miss those animal threads. God this is so awful.

Someone mentioned this last night and I thought it was a joke in reference to Gaborn's less-than-happy threads.

Now I feel like shit :( RIP man. Goddamn.

I had just assumed he had been posting less and less because of that silly reputation. :(

I kept seeing this thread but, for some reason, thought it was some kind of lame meta-humor considering some of his threads.

This sucks. I never talked to him, but we are all lessened when a gaffer dies.

What can I say? Gaborn was GAF royalty :/

Yeah, I posted before in less detail about that, his animal threads were great.

"Lets check GAF!"
"nah, gameing is boring atm. better check OT"
"oh hey something something Gabborn! Cool!"
*click*
" hurr hurr.. yeah the hell is he?"
*read on"

realityhit with a baseball bat

.... the grandma of my wife just passe away so i'm close to this kind of feelings at the moment.
forum people come and go but i've read gabbor stuff looooong tima ago when i was a lurker and he was a great character.

all the best and all the hope to his familie and friends.

Requiem aeternam dona ei, Domine.
Et lux perpetua luceat ei.
Requiescat in pace.
Amen.

Wow, and in such close proximity to the other passing. A very sad time on NeoGAF recently. I always found his threads very interesting to read, regardless of whether they were positive or negative and always found his posts insightful. Hopefully this isn't actually correct but it would seem like a very large coincidence for it to be anything but. I'll remain hopefull, but I really do wish him to rest in peace if unfortunately the news is true, I'll certainly miss him, his threads, and his contribution.

Wait, what happened? I saw the thread title and I'm shocked, I didn't know he was sick or anything. Terrible news. I didn't know him personally but have read plenty of his threads, he seemed to love animals.

RIP Gaborn.

The fact that this thread made me so depressed seems fitting of his legacy here...

But on a serious note - Though I didn't often speak with him, I had tremendous respect for him. I remember him in many of the more interesting discussions I had in OT, and I often found myself agreeing with his posts. He had some very solid values and insights in many topics that also interested me. I knew of his illness, but I'm still shocked...
RIP, I know that for me GAF won't be quite the same :(

It's very sad to know that part of GAF just disappeared. He seemed to be an intelligent man.

RIP Gaborn.

It's a shame that some things are irreversible.

Do we know how he died? Or even if its absolutely certain?
It seems like Stump (and the other mods I assume) is the only one who knows what happened. Should someone attempt to contact his family for confirmation? I know we want to be respectful to his family's privacy so I'm not saying that all of GAF should take it upon themselves to find out but...

Or am I being a fool for holding out some bit of hope that this is all just a big mistake?

DoB, real name, childhood photo and location all match for the people that knew him better.

So surreal, here I was thinking "what do you mean where's Gaborn can't a guy take a break from posting?" yesterday when the thread first was posted. Then this morning I checked again and saw the headline, my heart sank. R.I.P
