So where's Gaborn? (RIP Gaborn)

I did some poking around, and I think Gaborn and I went to the same college at the same time.

We live in a small, cruel world.

The OT will never be the same, rest in peace.
 
The irony of this thread being Gaborn's most depressing.

Really sucks to hear, had no idea he had health issues. RIP dude.
 
This is pretty shocking to me. Unlike with scorcho i had no idea he even had health problems. I really didn't think this thread was serious when i saw the title.

RIP Gaborn.
 
Fuck, I'm bummed out like crazy and he didn't even create this thread.
I read a lot of his threads while lurking and continued after becoming a member.
Posted in a a lot of them too, defending them against the people that wanted to hide them away in a 'Bad News Mega-Thread.'
Didn't really talk to him too much and I don't know if he really knew who I was, but I certainly noticed his lack of presence these last couple weeks I have been lurking while at work.

RIP Gaborn. You were a big part of the OT and GAF. You will be missed.
I hope your family and friends are as well as they can possible be at this time and able to get through this.
 
Wow, this is just terrible news, I never really interact with a lot of gaffers much or know any of them but Gaborn is just one of the names you recognize. Surreal in a way and devastating to read. RIP.
 
Wow that sucks... For the past day i just assumed this thread was some whitty joke thread so i never bothered to check.. Sucks RIP

Not to be so crass, but how did he die? 27 isn't exactly old by any stretch of the imagination and I don't remember him saying anything on here that would lead to the idea that he had some health problems or something.
 
I remember reading his threads and posts even from the times back when I was a lurker. His presence on GAF will be dearly missed, RIP.
 
Wow. Devastating. I remember wishing him the best in being a parent one day when we had a discussion about raising kids.

Rest in Paradise, Gaborn. As well as Scorcho and everyone else who passed away that was a member here. Horrible.
 
Wow, horrible news. I never spoke with Gaborn myself but he was a pretty important part of making OT the place it is. RIP

No matter who dies, it's a sad loss. Even though I had never seen his posts since I rarely visit the Off-Topic forum, I see now that he was a smart and interesting guy and that's why he will be missed.

May he rest in peace.
 
What the hell. :( god fucking damnit it's scorcho all over, this is depressing. You really will be missed Gaborn, RIP.

You know.... I once posted on gaf, a good while back, saying something to the effec of how there must be countless gaffers who pass away and we never even know about it. Unkowns, juniors, veterans, etc. I found it interesting at the time and felt amiss by thinking we wouldn't know who has simply left GAF, and who have literally 'left'. Now I almost think it wold be easier not to know. That might be cruel, or selfish, but it's just, oddly enough, really depressing to know some online 'stranger' no longer exists.. It's like we see each other as personas immune from fatal consequences..

Thoughts go out to his family and friends.
 
This is sad news. We had our divergencies from time to time but he was a important member of the off-topic who will be missed.

My condolences to all his friends and family.
 
I would always shake my head and chuckle when I saw that Gaborn posted a new thread... proceeding to then click on it.

RIP Gaborn. Great poster. I will also miss the meltdowns in his threads of the sensitive folks who wanted to ban depressing threads after going out of their way to click on them and read the OP.
 
RIP Gaborn... I only knew you through your dry wit and finder of odd news. You will be missed.
Gaf is becoming more and more like an extended family, his loss is a big one.
