I'm 3 months into wearing bi-weekly (02 Optix) disposable contacts and would like to know which all in one solution you use?

I use what they gave me with my starter kit and never even bothered with the other brands.
This is what I use:

If you use another brand, I would like your opinion and input.

I recently stumbled upon this...

Fantastic solution. It even comes with its own, strange vertical lens holding case. Basically, you stick the lenses on vertically, fill the cup with the solution, and screw the top back on with the lenses danging on the sides.

Then, you see ... well, something going on, like an AlkaSeltzer tablet, as it whisks away the proteins and dirt off the lens surfaces to the top.

Six hours later, the lenses feel brand new.

It's different from other solutions, because you specifically CANNOT use it directly in the eye. After six hours the solution turns neutral.

Well the reason I'm asking about other brands is because about after a week, my eyes start to feel really dry from the contacts. And that is with rewetting with the all in one solution.

I rinse and rub the contacts regardless of what it says on the box ('no rub'), before storing for the night.

It takes a while for your eyes to get used to contacts. See my n00b thread here:

Also, seeing as how i've got one more pair of contacts left and about three weeks into these two-week disposables, i think it's time to bump this one for more suggestions:

Also, the Equate brand "multipurpose solution" burns like hell. i use it overnight then use the saline solution in the mornings to rinse that shit off. i couldn't fathom using it to rewet my eyes.

I've worn contacts for years but lately all of my computer work has dried out my eyes enough that I can't wear them to work anymore. My old eye doc was no help, but the new one said the surface of my eyes looked chapped like lips do in the winter :lol Now I have the gel lubrication drops I have to put in my eyes every other day or so, and I can only wear my contacts on the weeknds. I guess that serves me right for abusing the privledge of wearing contacts for so many years.

I'll have to check for that ClearCare solution. Right now I'm also using the Complete Mosture Plus and they do help to keep the contacts from drying out so quickly, but I have a problem with build up. I can only wear contacts for a few times before a gray film builds up on them. Might be the resedue from the gel drops, or it is just a lot of junk the solution can't clean off. Using the old fasion soap-rub-palm trick gets rid of some of the gunk but after a while it's ineffective.

I use to use the Bash&Lomb Sensitive Eye + solution but it doesn't clean my contacts worth beans.

Aoi... if you have a burning sensation with a particular brand of lens solution, you may well be allergic to one of the ingredients...

I wore contacts for about twelve years before my surgery, and found out the hard way that I was allergic to chlorohexadine, found in Bausch and Loumb (spelling?) solution.

Make a list of the active ingredients, and compare some brands across. you may find that eliminating one of the chemicals will suit you well, but you gotta go through the trial and error process to find out which one.

Thanks for the input guys... so with that Clear Care kit, I would probably need to buy saline for rinsing right?

As for the vertical lens holder, how long does that last? I use a flat lens holder and I'm supposed to replace that every 3 months or so.

I use what good cow posted. Shit is sex.

You know, I seems to have a problem with dry eyes. Just recently I noticed something, thinking that the computer was drying out my eyes. But a few weeks back no drying out nothing. I realized the days that my eye were dried out, I was slacking on hydration(e.g. drinking coke all day, no water.)

I thought back to the days that the contacts didn't bother me, and I realized it was because I was drinking cup after cup of water. Go figure, I guess my tear ducts were working properly when properly hydrated.

Ceiling fans stil kick my ass however.

Oh yeah 30 day and night contacts are fucking kickass. I wear them for 3 days straight, sleep in them and all, then I'll put it in the case(clear care from goodcow's post) for one night. Have had no problems with my eyes as of yet. I occasionally push it to a week without taking them out, and it's no problem. It's the next best thing to lasek I guess.

Yup, water is key if you notice your contacts getting dry. It also helps with reducing protein buildup.

Wha? What kind of contacts are these? I always count the hours I've been wearing my contacts and try my best to take them off after 8 hours. I hate using eye drops sometimes since it quickly wrinkles up my contact and causes them to pop out after I blink.
Answering for the thread starter, I use what Bowser uses.
