Solange or Beyonce?

A Seat at the Table is better than Lemonade (though both are great and well made albums) but Beyoncé's discography is better than Solange's. Beyoncé took the commercial path and slowly unveiled her artistic abilities and has gotten stronger with every album starting with 4 - she also is gifted with an incredible voice. Solange has a more limited voice but she's always been herself completely, through and through. She could have followed her sisters steps and chose a different path.

Losing You is one of my favorite songs ever though.

I'm going to preface with: I don't follow either one's career closely.

Solange's A Seat At The Table was one of my favorite albums of 2016 so I'm going with Solange. I enjoyed her album more than anything I've ever heard from Beyonce.

I feel like other than formation nothing on lemonade is like that.
Because none of it is. For the most part it's just "Hold up nigga what you do?! Oh okay I see, mess around and see what happen, I'm a bad bitch who don't need ya ass, oh you groveling? I don't need no sorry tail nigga like you, stop saying sorry nigga I'll take you back damn, see I slay mofos."

As a concept album it's great, as an album it lacked something that A Seat At The Table had.

Its called the Knowles sister. Bye with this trash ass pitting the best two critically acclaimed sisters against each other on some arbitrary writing music shit. They both have individual talents that make both of their music selection and choices amazing. Its possible to like the music of one and not the other but that has nothing to do with who writes and who doesn't...

I ended up spinning a seat at the table vs Lemonade more because the message of a seat at the table was on time for the situation POC are going through including black people in this political and social climate...but Lemonade is about the struggles that black women go through in life growing up, the father figures in their lives, how society treats them and views them, dealing with motherhood, marriage - the pain in anger in between including how black men treat black women despite all the glitz and glamour...so both were equally as good and both deserving the nods they have been receiving from every publication on earth.

Beyonce whack as hell to me I prefer Solange for that soulful shit. I ignored her for years thinking she would put the same kind of stuff out as her sister, but I gave A Seat at the Table a listen this year and that shit was pretty good and then I downloaded True and that shit was hitting it too. I ain't sure if either of them write their own stuff, but if they do then I think Solange is way, way better at writing, but not got the chops, but I don't really think Beyonce got much chops either. I really don't know why people like her. It confounds me.
