To those who said in this thread higher traffic density isn't necessarily needed since it was annoying in GTA IV for PC when you set the slider to 100% I have to say:
Yes, that can be true. But GTA IV had a lot tougher car handling system. You couldn't even turn a corner at high speed without drifting and scratching other cars.
I haven't played GTA V yet but I read everywhere the car handling is a lot easier.
So personally I would like very high traffic density because it adds to the thrill!
