Sonic has almost _too many_ moves in Sonic Rush (control pic inside)

Check out how many moves Sonic will have in this game... In addition to regular features like Homing Attack & Spin Dash, he's got Super Boosts, Grind Tricks, Humming Tops, Tension Tricks, Advanced Tension Tricks, Hop Jumps, etc.:

I'm trying to remember how many abilities Sonic had in the Adventure games, but if this isn't the most he's had in his repertoire, it's right up there. While playing the E3 demo, things moved so fast that at times I couldn't keep my mind on trying out the advanced tricks, it was enough just to try and navigate the course and keep track of the action across both screens. They look damn cool when you do pull them off though.

At least they're not trying to use the stylus as well. ;) A couple nice videos on page 2 of the preview show off some of the new tricks, btw.

I agree, if the extra tricks and moves are over-complicating my enjoyment of the game, I'll save trying to use them until my second play-through (or until at least I've got controlling the game down).

Yeah, usually when moves just get in my way, I just use them when I want to play around.

There are these cool bungee cords/chain things in the demo level that you use to whip Sonic up to new heights, and I think the "tension tricks" come into play when you are going directly from one to another in a series of jumps.

Did Sonic ever have a "Super Boost" before? My favorite aspect of Sonic Rush is that you can also use the boost in little bursts as you run along, like he's got a nitrous kit hooked up to his ass or something. :lol

In Sonic Advance 2 if you could keep your guys running long enough they'd flash and go at double their max speed. Maybe that's what this is

Sounds like the same concept. But in Sonic Rush, you choose when to activate the Super Boost, and you can also use boost as you run to give Sonic a quick hit of speed. Using boost regularly with cause it to decrease (or stop accruing) a little bit and delay it from maxing out (enabling Super Boost).

You can see the boost meter on the left side of this pic:
