But Sonic 2 MS's first boss is easy as pie. It's Sonic 2 GG's first boss that's absurdly difficult.

You're not wrong but I haven't played the MS version since I was 5, the GG version being in Sonic Adventure DX has tainted my perception of it forever!

Lots of well-informed discussion at the link trying to tie this into everything we already knew.

Going by that chart, it seemed less like a gameplay gimmick and more of a plot-based integration, like TMNT 2: Turtles in Time. Sonic runs through a few zones, confronts Eggman, gets teleported to the past, has to run through past variants and new zones, return to a future that was worse than he left it, and return back to undo the damage.

Let's put it another way. The bizarro part of the fanbase is never going to disappear. Unless you're mandating that commentary basically all start with a 'yeah well, these sonic fans are weird but the rest are okay' disclaimer, said commentary is never going to disappear either.
You either get used to it and take it for what it is, or it's just going to continue bugging you forever.
A poster calling specifically another poster a deviant or whatever other derogatory term though, no can do. Against TOS, actionable, etc.

The PEGI 12 rating is the same as E10+ in America, right? Because, like, the list of E10+ Sonic games in America is pretty broad:

Even Sonic Rush 2 was a PEGI 12, though that is techincally because of swearing. (Marine the australian stereotype says bugger, because of course she does)

E10+ didn't exist until 2005. ShtH itself seems to have been hastily edited at the last minute to get down to it from a T.
I'm going to go on a limb and guess you didn't actually play Federation Force.
Did I buy it? No. Did I borrow a copy from a friend who's a diehard Metroid fan, mostly on the basis on Next Level's pedigree? Yes. Was I still let down? You betcha. Game's bland as hell.
Okay, fan covers of vocal songs are usually pretty sketchy, but this acoustic take on Endless Possibility really hit the mark.
Game was miles better than Dark Moon, so I dunno.

Yay, glad I found this thread. I'm a pretty big Sonic fan, even if the quality of the series has wildly fluctuated between great to outright shit. Glad to know this exists.
To start the conversation, I'm currently doing a listen of almost EVERY Sonic Soundtrack....I ended up listening to 53 games, and I think I have like....five to go? I thought I would never complete it, but I guess not.

I even listened to Sonic Eraser, even though the OST was around five minutes, ha ha. I wasn't impressed with that one. Chronicles was among the worst, no surprises there. Eraser was horrendous, too.

I think it's been said to death, but a list like this is pretty difficult to make without realizing how much every other game you didn't mention jams. Heck right now I'm thinking about Chaotix, the other Advance games, Battle, Heroes, Rush Adventure, Triple Trouble, Sonic 1 & 2, Black Knight, rambles on listing every damn game
I think a top 10 weakest OST's would probably be easier though. Mine would look something like:
Chronicles
Free Riders
Blast
3D Blast (Saturn)
Rivals
Spinball (Mega Drive)
Rivals
Rivals 2
Secret Rings/Drift 1/Sonic 4
Secret Rings/Drift 1/Sonic 4
Shuffle
And even then a number of those games aren't even bad OST's, just that they have more weak points as a full package comparatively speaking.

Overall, I think the first two Sonic games are probably the best composed for me, but the first SA just has more meaning for me personally. I pretty much grew up with that soundtrack. Its hard not putting Unleashed or Sonic 06 on it, but I imagine the list will change over time. I don't plan stopping when it comes to listening to Sonic soundtracks.

So Ventura Beat have apparently made a boo-boo and posted this picture with some sub text talking about Chemical Plant (courtesy of Sonic Stadium).
The Stadium are cautioning that it might be fake but it's an interesting image, and not a Hardboiled Heavy.
