Sony announces PS4 Pro, $399, November 10th

$399 and november 10th. they got those two things right.

but the focus on 4k and HDR means all of us will have to spend another $1000 to actually see the benefits. i was really hoping they would add enhancements to 1080p titles like better AA, AF and 60 fps.

Very disappointed.

but that's on the developer, not Sony

unless I misheard

So I'm still unclear about one thing

Will existing games have their framerates raised on the PS4 Pro? Or is it just a bump in other graphical aspects?

There's no list of titles receiving patches for PS4 Pro, is there?

Seriously, all I need is Bloodborne and Dark Souls III. Maybe Battlefield 4, but that's a stretch. Come on.

The price is good. I am in. I am not sure why the but the Pro look very close to the current PS4 and not the slim version. more edgy ?

where can I preorder one ?

They mentioned but of these and more, but whatever gets you going.

You'll get much better looking/performing games in 1080p with this.

Potentially for Sony First parties and the biggest AAA games, but I can't see most devs bothering to do much with the 1080p performance (which I would imagine takes much more effort than just upscaling to 4k) unless they are literally required to

Yeah this isnt for me. I'll just pick up an OG PS4 on the cheap now and with the HDR update I can ever afford a 4K tv i'll be ready!

The only question is how much does it cost me to trade in my PS4 for PS4 Pro.

They got the pricing right, I'll definitely be buying one this holiday.

I think Scorpio needs to be at worst $500 or it'd get ugly.

Sooooo this will have a UHD Blu-ray player, right?!?!

Because that's the deciding factor for me in getting one of these.

Definitely going to wait and see the practical results of the Pro on the PS4 lineup. I hope Digital Foundry is ready for the comparisons.

If the base PS4 versions of games are solid, and Pro is an improvement I'll probably jump in. If base PS4 games start to suffer in terms of framerates or tearing, or if Pro versions of games are still saddled with framerate issues to push visuals I'll start pricing gaming PCs.

$399 sounds good, I was expecting something stupid.

Now, to get a HDR monitor for my PC, before this year I wasn't a fan of the old HDR, the bloom effect seemed horrible. Now they have a new HDR and it needs a lot of new hardware. Thank goodness I didn't upgrade my PC too soon. It better be worth it, everyone talking about it like it's a huge thing. I have no reason to doubt that it looks nice, but I love my setup, goodbye old trusty monitor.

What shall I do with a 3rd display. Maybe use it as a web browser screen with tri screens on the PC. HDR screen for games, HDTV for netflix, twitch, and youtube.

So, whats the difference between this and the Xbox One S? It seems that Scorpio, from what we know, will blow this thing out of the water. Not trying to flame here, just legit question.

I dont have a 4k TV or monitor. Will I notice upgraded graphics if I use the PS4 Pro on a 1440p pc monitor? I down own a PS4 ATM, so wondeirng if i should jump in on this or the slim when released.

Looking really good. I think regular slim is going to become pointless to produce very soon. It's only $400, it's not really about extra, it's just plain better deal to get this and every mainstream title is supporting it already. I'd be shocked if pro isn't widely adopted in a year.

Like MS is selling 1TB Xbox One S for $350, right? This is a really good deal, like why not.

They didn't talk about specs at all but that's expected, it's weaker than something that is coming next year, but who cares right now. Seems like a sure hit success.
