Sony co-developing FSR4 upscaler models

I don't think number of tops is the main issue. Pro has different ML architecture than RDNA4, right now FSR4 only works on RDNA4 - RDNA3 was left behind.

Cost is still a factor, they still would have needed a bigger GPU to support the ML hardware and software stack required for FSR 4.
 
I haven't even seen differences pointed out between FSR4 and PSSR. Has there been a like for like comparison? Does AMD have good ray reconstruction?

No, I don't think so. GPU would be just different (Full RDNA4 ML parts). Sony didn't wait for full RDNA2 with PS5 and the same thing happened here.

9060 will still support FSR4 and it will have less tops than Pro most likely.

Guessing ps6 will have fsr4 or 5. So dose that mean fsr4 won't be coming to the next Xbox? Or do ms need to pay Sony and AMD royalty fees for usage.
I mean Xbox has a blu ray player, which is a Sony technology. Sony uses Azure servers in some instances which are MS etc.

Of course it isn't, Cerny spelled that out in excruciating detail.l(including how easily they could have added more, and how little it would matter).But everyone is just doing the DF and stationary shimmer something something not my DLSS instead of listening.
