It's for dealers, new software lineup will be showcased.
I don't know if SCEA and SCEE will choice this event's date to disclose PSP launch final details but I think it's time...

$150 @ 3/4/05

I think that's what I called in the prediction thread anyway. I'd rather see it in early March rather than late March, but I think the latter might be more likely. That 3/4/5 tie-in just seemed too convenient to pass up, but I can see them launching just before the fiscal year ends so they can brag to shareholders about selling out launch units. It might look bad if it launched in early March, but then software or hardware sales stalled out to the end of the month. PEACE.

That would piss of Konami in Europe, with MGS3 coming out that day.

I refuse to get my hopes up at all on PSP info after the bullshit that was pulled at CES lol. This time Sony will tell us that the PSP will be released on a day that ends in "day" and that the first number of the price will be 1 and the last will be 9.

Yeah, they're long overdue for answering all the launch questions. I know they don't want to tip their hand to Nintendo in Europe any earlier then they have to, but if their product is as strong as they (and I) think it is, then they should just throw down the gauntlet and make Nintendo respond.

Well, Nintendo announced the DS price today so that's not a problem anymore.

our sony rep was in this week telling us where the new layouts would be and showing us pictures of what it was going to look like.

i think she was honestly expecting us to be 'impressed', as if this was the first time we were seeing the unit... (i had pictures printed up the first day those pics hit the net, and had them at work that day, THANKS GAF!).

the whole thing made me wish i had imported one, just to have it in my pocket, and take it out like it was no big deal and go "you mean one of these?"

anyhow, she was hinting at 150. we'll see

Doh! Thanks for mentioning that. It'll mean a late-March launch for EU at least, but probably both territories then. Didn't realize MGS3 wasn't out yet over there. :( PEACE.

EDIT:

I hope she's right. I'm pretty much banking on it being that price.

Remember that PSP prediction thread? I think now we can bring it back up.
I'll stand with a prediction that it'll sell for no less than $179. I'll go for week of March 6 to go on sale, probably Mar. 10.

Not wagering anything other than to eat crow if I'm wrong ;)
