Not surprising tbh. Sony has made it pretty clear that they're trying to make inroads into markets like China, India, and Africa. I expect to be aggressive in that approach.
Yep, and they're also attending ChinaJoy later this momth, which could showcase two Chinese PlayStation Studios games (Convallaria and Lost Soul Aside).
China Hero Project is, honestly, one of the best initiatives they've done in the last decade.

Truth.

Who ever can make it in China, can move numbers we've never seen before. Its wild to think one of the biggest populations in the world, didn't have traditional consoles for generations, so its a untapped market

This is an old article, but consoles were banned for a long while in China (i.e. from 2000 until 2015) which influenced preferences among gamers and game devs with them putting all of their focus on PC and mobile platforms.

It will be challenging for console platform holders to gain a foothold in mainland China due to the entrenched popularity of PC and mobile gaming. However, initiatives like the ones from Sony are a good starting point, imo.

Even so, there's still a long road ahead to make console gaming as popular in mainland China as it is in Europe, North America, or Japan.

Looks like there's a Phantom Blade Zero both at the BiliBili World 2024. I wonder once they're done touring if they'll also drop the demo on PSN.

Yep, it was actually a whole Sony Group's initiative, as SMEJ (which actually owns 4% of BiliBili) and Sony Corp. (the electronics company) were also there.

Plus, SIE showcased Astro's Playroom, Gran Turismo 7 and Genshin Impact too.
