Sony Playstation: First Party Studios & their Current Projects

This made me chuckle.

Lol!

I still haven't played it yet, waiting on that PS+ Knack ;)

To those that don't have a PS4: the message "ABC played XYZ for the first time" does appear again if you haven't played a game in a while. Don't know exactly how long, maybe a year, maybe half a year, but it doesn't mean he never played it.

Still funny, though. :)

I think there is a thermometer for the limit of what you can put on screen in this game otherwise the scene will be very crowded and performance choppy. I really hope they increase the limit on PS4 PRO and not just the resolution, allowing more props and meshes on screen, hence special PS4 PRO only levels. It has to happen.
I don't think you know how games work. The small increase in RAM is for the higher resolution and effects to fill in the frame-buffer, but you're not really going to have substantially more to warrant different modes and splitting the assets between both makes no sense. The PS4 Pro also utilizes the added DDR3 RAM for the OS in order to alleviate more for the 1080p recording / DVR function. Why do you think the Scorpio reserves such a massive amount of RAM for the OS? Partial answer: 4K video recording / DVR.

Besides, we have no real knowledge on the memory limitations yet and how they are leveraging the HDD as a cache to further extend it (larger levels / portals / etc.). I think better performance / resolution for 4K and VR is more than enough.

I'm really surprised nothing from Sucker Punch has leaked yet. We don't even know the setting. Lol

If it's sci-fi, fantasy or western, I'll lose my mind.

I wonder what Drinkbox is up to. They've gone 3rd party but they started on Playstation. Would be awesome to get an announcement from them. I loved both Tales From Space games (had the top score on two Mutant Blobs Attack levels) and Guacamelee. Wasn't that interested in Severed though.

Did you actually play Severed? It's a fantastic game and a really strange (but totally successful) mash-up of genres. It's like Myst meets Metroid meets a swipe-screen phone game, and it's really brilliant. Also has a pretty dark and twisted story.

I think it was undisclosed project. I'm not really sure but I wouldn't mind the game being this.

My guess its for a London Studio VR project

Ovosonico (the makers of Murasaki Baby) are teasing their next project on Twitter.

Now someone from 505Games retweeted one of the tweets which could mean the game is being published by them. If that's the case, Sony has ended its partnership with the developer.

Seeing how SIE has moved away a bit (maybe a lot) from funding these smaller games, I wouldnt be surprised if they ended their deal with Ovosonico

Or, like Tarsier, they only had a one game deal with Sony in the first place.

Im not sure that deal was ever fully disclosed and that doesnt seem to be the kind of deal Tarsier made with Sony too.

Tarsier never made a new IP for SIE, all the work they did for Sony was on established IP, and they worked on multiple games for them actually

Both Ovosonico and 505 are based in Italy. It could also be there's a close friendship between people working in both companies...

(Not ruling out a partnership, but it could also be friendship and helping each other out)

yeah, it was one guy from 505 rt'ing only one of the tweets, not sure thats an indicative.

But still, I wouldnt be shocked to hear SIE dropped their deal with them

I wasn't saying their deal was exactly the same as Tarsier's, I was just pointing out that everyone assumes every studio signs a mythical "three game deal" when that's clearly not the case with every studio.

And yes, I know they worked on multiple games for Sony (or rather, a couple of games plus a ton of DLC), I was referring to the publishing deal they announced in 2010 (which in hindsight was obviously LBP Vita).

Edit: In other words, don't assume Sony dropped them when there's no evidence Sony had a contract with them post-Murasaki Baby.

Oh sure. I think people expects Ovosonico has multiple games with them because of this post here but thats not really a confirmation, sure.

Hope everything you like that I don't like gets cancelled or is never seen again.

lol
Fair enough I'd say anything for Knack to die I'm good
I want escape but not like this I'll buy 2 copies of knack to keep it alive
Bruh. The apes needs you and want you to abandon Knack.
But... what if it turns out super awesome?
We saw the gameplay montage trailer and i can already tell it will be just as good or bad should i say as Knack 1, this is Knack 1.5 in the making it will flop and be terrible again i can bet on it but i don't bet

All impressions so far said it was an improvement

Thats excatly what happened since the tweet is from November 2016 and if you look at his trophies he platinumed it in January 2015.

Hope no one buys Knack 2 let it crash and burn.

I hope Knack 2 does well enough to justify Puppeteer 2, Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time 2, and The Order: 1886 2. There are plenty of IPs that deserve a second try.

I was underwhelmed by Knack at launch, but I'm willing to give it a second chance.

Speaking of underwhelming things that are due a second chance, weren't there rumors at one point that someone was working on PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale 2? If executed well, that could be a nice E3 surprise.

We're one step closer to having Crash, which means we're one step closer to Spyro. Plus, now we've got Aloy, Knack, The Hunter (Bloodborne), Joel & Ellie, Galahad, Iota & Atoi, Delsin & Fetch, Kutaro, Oddsock, Toggle, and Swoop, The dancer from Bound. That could ease one complaint.

I've also noticed this happen when I switched from disc to digital, when LPB3 became part of PS+. Granted I hadn't played it in a while either. (Also, switching is annoying because you can't just download the license. You have to delete the game data then download the digital version.)

All I needed to hear - absolutely loved Knack.

Same here. It has its fair share of issues - it's mechanically shallow, had some perf issues, the story was brain dead, etc - but it was a cool little game that I had a blast playing with my SO, a lapsed gamer.

If Knack 2 improves upon the first, even better. Really hope it does pretty well, gets a warm reception and goes on to sell well, so we might get not only Knack 3 and 4 and 5, but other cool stuff in the same vein.

Lets be real...

Knack while badly reviewed still past 1 million sales and its also a mark cerny side project :

Cerny vaulted the ps4 to number 1, got kojima on board to make a sequel, and is likely designing the future ps5....

If it does similar numbers to knack, if cerny wants a knack 3 i doubt Sony will say no, lol

Knack was a PS4 launch title next to Killzone Shadow Fall, when a new system doesnt have much other games of course those games will get the most sales, Zelda on Switch for example a 100% attach rate throughout the month of Switch release

That would be cool

Which is why im saying lets give knack 2 a shot, the first game was specifically designed to be a launch title and it shows, cerny has a chance to fix a lot of mistakes, and drop in/out co-op seems like a move in the right direction at least.

Uncharted in August, Knack 2 in September and GT Sport in October.

Add one or two of the bigger games (Detroit, God of War, Dreams, Spider-Man, etc...) and Sony is good for the rest of the year.

Nah I say they stop at October. Destiny 2 will already be out, 2k is October, than November call of duty and battlefront(stay away from these monsters) possibly Rdr2 as well
