Sony Playstation: First Party Studios & their Current Projects

I can't udnerstand why GOW, Detroit and Spider-Man look so much better this year than when shwon last year. They look excatly like CGI from post-process and details. Those must be made from the groudn up on PS4 PRO.
So Sucker Punch game will be for PSX?

Note to self, STOP believing GAF hype.
When will I learn.

At least next E3, everyone will keep their expectations in check including me XD.

Anyways, where o where is that rascal Sucker Punch at?

2016 was just too good....

we've been spoiled.

Nothing really surprising besides that Shadow of the Colossus remake (which looks fantastic) and how good Spiderman looks. Combat looks incredible.

I said it in the main thread:

What I saw, both pre-show and during the show, was fun as hell. It's the lack of stuff I thought I'd see, like Sucker Punch's new game, which was surprising. No Dreams or WiLD update.

But shit, Shadow of the Colossus remake was amazing.

Yeah, if you combine pre-show with the conference is was great all around. Hell the pre-show had more surprises than the actual conference o_O

I'm a bit surprised they didn't showcase Gran Turismo Sport in the main conference. Why not? Same with their other first party stuff (Matterfall!!!).

Just seems weird, but at the end of the day, we get the new trailers, so... we got what we needed, lol. GT fans just need an exact date and we're set.

I'm convinced Sucker Punch is making a PS5 launch title. Why is it so absent?

They're a relatively small team (a little over 100 people) that literally works on one game at a time. And they're rumored to be working on a new IP, which is going to add additional time to the development process.

Knack 2 (9/5, $39.99)
Playlink (party games, 2017)
Matterfall (8/15)
Everybody's Golf (8/29, $39.99)
Gran Turismo Sport (Fall 2017)
Superhot VR (Summer 2017)
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy (same release date, 8/22)
Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds (2017)
Days Gone (didn't see a date)
Shadow of the Colossus (2018)
The Inpatient (VR)
God of War (early 2018)
Detroit: Become Human (???)
Spider-Man (2018)

Whoops, thought there was another post. Gonna update this until others post below. Sorry.

Superhot VR is an indie game.

its odd didn't supermassive say they wanted to go multiplatform?

They are (the VR shooter they announced isn't Sony published) but people seemed to think that meant ALL their projects were going multiplatform when obviously that just meant they were making multiplatform games in addition to exclusives.

So here's all the new Sony first party announcements:
Hidden Agenda (Supermassive Games)
Horizon: Zero Dawn - The Frozen Wilds (Guerrilla Games)
The Inpatient (Supermassive Games)
Shadow of the Colossus (Bluepoint Games)
That's You (Wish Studios)

Loved almost all of them but man, that's a disappointment when we were expecting FromSoft and Sucker Punch's next projects.

Man, I hope I can catch all the trailers on YouTube soon. My stream kept stuttering, cutting out, rolling back, etc. It was extemely annoying and distracting and kind of made it hard to get a proper bead on things.

I will say I still find the idea of remaking (remastering?) Shadow of the Colossus really, really strange.

Sucker Punch is either making the biggest game that ever was, or they're fucking up so hard. It has been 3 years and Sony have no problem announcing games 2 years before release. How can a game take more than 5 years? what is this ip they're working on?

2-3 years. First Light released in Aug 2014 and I doubt they have 2 split teams.

Easily the best conference, but the bar was pretty low this year. Sony's got the format down well, so I hope they stick to the trailer heavy presentation.

One of the things I was most excited for, the Sucker Punch IP, was absent, and there wasn't really any indie presence, where I was hoping to see more Vane. Would have loved a few new IPs and new announcements - like Ratchet or Sly - but I figured with last years blitz, there might be less. Dreams would have been nice as well.

But the God of War gameplay quelled a few fears, Spider-Man, Uncharted, Days Gone, and Horizon DLC looked good, plus Matterfall is releasing way sooner than I expected.

I think we need to move the bar for new IP development to somewhere around 5+ years? Hopefully it will be the next Horizon.

Gran Turismo no firm release date lol wtf is going on with PD. Detroit no release date at all? is Sony doing a gamescom this year?

Definitely disappointing in that we didn't see Sucker Punch, so here's hoping for a PSX showing.

I'm kinda impressed they have 3 new PS4 titles for Sony already. Maybe Sony wants to keep them around as a potential first party studio.

Bravo Team? It is published by SIE, they even trademarked it earlier today

SP is gonna be at PSX. As I said in the other thread, Shuhei did said the timing has to be right to announce a new game. If it's not ready, it's not gonna be shown.

Ruin4r was right... Really don't want to believe it but man that source is legit. I wonder how high up the chain that info comes from.

Anyways there is still PSX/Parisgamesweek/Gamescom to see what's up. Still a lack of a big IP at E3 was surprisingly.

What was the leak?

He said Jak and Dexter,Sly Cooper,Loco Roco would be there.

Also the Last Of Us 2, none of that was there.

Edit:Loco Roco 2 was just annoued so he is right about that one.

Oh, I missed the "Sony Interactive Entertainment Presents" screen because Sony decided to stupidly pan out to the crowd at that point and it's a white font over the background.

What a great conference only missed dreams deeply

Eh, I thought it had a lot of great games but it was a couple steps backwards compared to E3 2015, E3 2016 and PSX 2016. They seemed to build it around showing games we already knew about instead of the few big announcements they did have (notably the Horizon expansion, Monster Hunter and Shadow of the Colossus).

And the pacing was too fast for the length they ended up running. It was as if they threw the show together because they had an appointment they needed to catch.

One thing I noticed. They are following the PS2 era of releasing more casual games towards the middle end of the console life when hardcore gamers are looking for the next system.

GTS should sell like a mother, but I'm also expecting stuff like Eveeybody's golf, Knack 2 and supermassive games to do well.
