Sony press conference announcements

Chrome Hounds does look like that in motion, although since I believe it's been on-and-off in development for about two years now (which is like 30 years in LET'S MAKE A GAME IN EIGHT MONTHS! From development time) you'd hope it would look pretty good.

:lol :lol So true.

According to famitsu, these games were showed for PSP:

PSP
- Jikkiou Powerful pro Baseball Portable---Konami
- Crisis Core FFVII---Square Enix (an anine clip showed)
- Portable Resort (tentative title)---Namco
- Super Robot Taisen---Banpresto (a video showed)

Can anyone confirm this? JPPY and SRT would be 2 BIG HITS...

If that's all was shown for the PSP it's pretty obvious Sony has changed their focus, PSP is being ignored.

That Gundam screen shows what looks like the same quality graphics as in the trailer. Promising! :D

Bandai showed a Gundam game that looked FUCKING EMBARASSING, it was realistic Zakus bump-mapped but with terrible animation and non-destructable environments. They talked about how they made it from scratch without using middleware as if this were something to be proud of.

Looks very stiff (early) but the graphics look the same as the E3 video (which people thought was CGI). :)

In the Gundam game's defense, it's obviously pre-pre-alpha at this point. Environments are totally nondestructable, and there aren't even any enemies (he just shoots at a still guy, and a cutscene is triggered when he gets close enough).

There's either something wrong with the shadow algorythm or the trees are placed in the air. The floor shadow of the trees do not meet the tree at it's base.
That's the wonderfull world of shadowmapping(shadowbuffers) for ya - it never really quite works for all cases without a bunch of hacky tweaks.

It's probably full featured,
UE3 evaluation license IS fully featured (including dev support) - it just has a time limit of 90days.

But I thought we couldn't get round cylinders in this gen? It has to be CG, right
I'm more wondering how footage that looks exactly the same goes from "no fuckin way is this realtime" to "fuckin embarassing" in just two months. :P

They need to add physics in the Gundam game, the whole place looks frozen. Where is the wind?

Those trees looked like plastic, please don't use shiny lights and bump mapping on trees. :lol

Everyone keeps saying this without reading...

There isn't much life in the game world at this point, and with good reason. The demo doesn't use any physical calculations. Such calculations, which will add effects such as wind and smoke, will make use of the Cell's seven SPU processing units. The game in its current form uses just the main Cell processor (minus the SPUs) and the system's graphics chip.

How much more would it have cost to use clear buttons on that white psp, when your main selling point is your alleged "sexiness" you'd think they would have gone all out. Those solid white buttons look pretty cheap.

Firmware update looks good all around except for that numberpad input method. It can't possibly be that hard to code a normal keyboard input method especially with user interface being used.

My impressions should be going up on 1UP.com soon; in the meantime here's a full-res picture of the INSANELY SICK Rogue Galaxy cinemas. The game itself looks really good, but not this good, sadly. Goddamn, I can't wait for L5 on PS3, though. 1080p cel-shaded animation is going to look better than most any animated film you've seen.

The main character, Jester Rogue, is visible there. And that's the heroine's back.

That looks so good. Level 5 is finishing off the PS2 with a bang! I hope this game tops Dark Cloud 2 it would make Rogue Galaxy the best PS2 game! FF12 watch out!

Looks amazing, I'm praying they continue down this route for next generation. Level 5 is probably the best newcomer this generation, and they just seem to be getting better and better.

That Gundam game looks hot in the videos. If they add destructible environments it would be awesome.

I can't believe people are buying 2 psps.. (each for $250??!). I guess everyone spends money on different things.

It's so that one can be homebrew and one for the sexy new features (and potentially sexy new color)

One for homebrew and one for games I guess, kind of like how some people bought two xboxes (one for live play and one for homebrew)?

Damn, the white PSP is so beautiful. I'll do as some of you guys, get a white one for games and keep the black one with my old firmware.

But what's up with the buttons, they look weird. :\

Those 1080p screenshots...well, if anybody here buys a 1080p set/projector for this next generation, get used to those jaggies, because lots of your games are going to be upscaled (either by the console, or by your TV) from 720p. Definitely on the 360, but probably on the PS3 as well...

He's just sad that he can't afford it. :P

People want to play old, 16 bit games on the go :lol

Seriously though, people who don't want to update simply because they can't play NES and SNES roms are retarded.

I sure got what I wanted from this PS Meeting - a RE5 trailer and new PS3 announcements.
The Xbox Summit better have some hot surprises too..

Oh I can afford it. I've got a stable job and good income. I just wouldn't spend that much on such a thing. :P As I said everyone's different, I just can't comprehend it.. It would be more understandable though if it only cost $100-$150 or so.

Is that bottom pic of Rogue Galaxy in real-time?

Totally bought'd.

This question needs to be answered...

I somehow have to think that was the white wall mounted PSP i was viewing at E3 2004, showing the incubus video - and not a new release version. Were there any new press shots?
